SPLIT TOPIC: border redux
Wow, I'm shocked that this has not been moved to the Crown Heights board, as this incident occurred east of Washington Avenue. Carnivore, do your job!
MOD NOTE: Thanks for pointing it out; I hadn't initially read this thread. Next time, PM me!

The realtors would have kept this (and most of the posts on the Crown Heights board) on the Prospect Heights board. -

I heard the shooting was over a border debate

Yes, we need to put up a wall and secure the border!

shhhh. They may try to make you change your login from PHrez to CHrez, based on where you live.
You'd instanteously be worth 20% less. -

Damn, them wetbacks from Crown Heights be ruining the n'hood. -
If there is a shooting east of Washington, but west of Classon it's in Crown Heights. If it's a new restaurant opening catering to the yuppies, hipsters, and the like, it's Prospect Heights?

starbucks is usually the neutral border

This is all bullshit. Crown Heights and Prospect Heights are adjacent neighborhoods that share many of the same issues. All of which has nothing to do with accurate reporting of where something took place. This was in Crown Heights. There have been plenty of Prospect Heights incidents also. The "walls" shit is bullshit hyperbole.

We're just having a little fun with it -
It may be time to have the long discussed ketchup vs mustard war.
-
Please STOP the ketchup and mustard hyperbole!!!!

This board has a long, proud history of of ketchup vs mustard hyperbole.

It is no coincidence that the two main combatants (Em and Carnivore) live on opposing sides of Washington Ave.
....I agree, we should resolve this dispute before it tears apart the very fabic of our Brooklynian nation. I can think of no peaceful way, other than an all out Ketchup vs Mustard war.
The mustard people would assemble on the PH side, and launch mustard from cannnons toward CH.
The good people of CH, would return fire with a homemade catapult filled with ketchup. It would be epic.
People who did not know which side they were on, could stand in the middle ....to be hit by traffic as well as condiments from both sides. -
Maybe the Prospect Park Picnic should be a Hot Dog theme! Fight it out with super soakers of ketchup and mustard!!

Supersoakers would, of course, be purchased from the newest company to be deemed unpolitically correct because it poses a threat to Park Slope's quaintness:
The Toys R Us pop up store!

We gotta get you Park Slope people pissed off as well, and it seems to be pretty easy.
BTW, picnic is being discussed here: http://www.brooklynian.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=58858
All are welcome. -

Speaking of walls, I once had the pleasure of visiting the Berlin wall when it was still a functioning wall. Boy, was that scary! If you went to East Berlin and didn't get back to West Berlin before midnight, the Stasi (East German police) would throw you in jail. My friend and I got lost on the wrong side of the wall and almost didn't make it back.
This wall stuff is no joke. Once the Prospect Heighters learn you're from the "other side", you start getting funny looks. People won't sit next to you in the bars and you get bad tables in the PH restaurants. Ugh! So remember if you're from Crown Heights, keep it on the down low when you're "over there". You'll be glad you did. -

At least the Empire Blvd. dividing line between Crown Heights and PLG is undisputed--I THINK :-)
