Not a Brooklyn Company but I had my good pre revolution Persians cleaened and repaired by ABC carpet and home. they did picck up and deliver though Iwas living in Manhattan at the time. -
Subject: Try Cline's
I have used Clines for years with great success, both for cleaning and refringing. They operated out of a space on Union St for years (until the co-op took over their space) and are now in Midwood, I believe. Last I checked they did pick-ups. I've found their rates to be very reasonable and service very friendly.

Subject: Norman Ave. carpet cleaners
This Norman Ave. business is a huge operation. There are several names but it is the same company. I use them under the name Long Island Carpet Cleaners. I was there 2 weeks ago and dropped off my carpets but they also pick up and deliver. You get a discount for dropping them off yourself. They are very professional. They have a facility to wash oriental rugs and they do repair work too. Tomorrow they are delivering my orientals. If there is any problem I will let you know. But I have used them before and never had a problem. -
Cleantex in Manhattan does a great job with repairs and cleaning. They pick up and deliver and they are reasonably priced. I had a bad experience with ABC a few years ago.

Bump. Does anyone have any more current recommendations? I saw a post on Brownstoner that made it sound like Cline's had changed hands--anyone use them recently? I just have one small rug so I'm not too concerned about price.

I have used Certified to clean and refringe two 60 year old oriental rugs with great success.

I have never owned an oriental rug, but if I did, I would never walk on it or even touch it, so it would never need to be cleaned.
I would leave it in its original packaging for later sales on eBay.
