  • LOL...I love the iced coffee at Cafe Martin - and it's only $2.50
  • I actually love the iced coffee at the bodega on 7th and Windsor. It's $!.50!
  • I'm partial to Red Horse since they usually give you the option of having coffee ice cubes with your iced coffee.
  • I must try this Red Horse. Otherwise, I am a full devotee to Bark's iced coffee, even though it's $2.75. Worth it though.
  • Mmm coffee ice cubes.
  • This is awesome information!
  • I think you mean "exhaustive survey," not "exhausting survery."

On second thought, after reading the link, maybe you do mean "exhausting."
  • So the price of an iced coffee ranges between $1.65 and $3.25. While that is fascinating, given that we're all living in Park Slope, does it really matter?

    I did indeed mean "exhausting"
    : )
  • The article unfortunately missed Hanco's on 7th Av and 10th. Their iced coffee is a real standout. Probably the most expensive at $4.00 for the 16 oz, but worth it IMHO. Very strong and very delicious.
  • And served lovingly in high quality styrofoam.
  • Subject: PS Iced Coffee Survey in the NY Daily News

The NY Daily News picked up on this story and published it in Friday's paper.

  • Almondine has good iced coffee. Their iced coffee actually retains real coffee flavor instead of just tasting like barely flavored milk - like Dizzy's for example.

Weird because I don't mind Dizzy's hot coffee but their iced coffee might as well be water.

My favorite iced coffee in the city is from La Colombe, particularly the one in SoHo on Lafayette. SO. DAMN. GOOD.

Parco actually has La Colombe coffee but it tastes nothing like getting it from the source. Haven't tried anything here in the Slope that even comes close.
  • this post has inspired me to go to Naidre's.

the best iced coffee I have ever had is at Cafetteria on Sullivan and Prince. They make a New Orleans Style coffee which blows my mind!
  • I didn't see any mention of cold brew in the article. Does anyone know a place that serves cold-brewed iced coffee (i.e. coffee grounds steeped in cold water for a long time, then filtered and diluted)? The only place I know of is Culture Espresso Cafe in Manhattan at 38th and 6th, by my office. I'd love to know of a place in the Slope or close by.
  • sit & wonder, on washington and st marks, serves very nice cold-brew, made from stumptown beans. not in PS, but closer than 38th and 6th.
  • Thanks Sweet Tea, I've been looking for some good cold brew too - will check it out.

I second Cafe Martin being awesome and only $2.50 - he's really fast too and quite a character.
Cocoa Bar has coffee ice cubes but they mix them with regular ice cubes. Their large is also bigger than most and their small is the same size as many other place's large. Like Postmark's. Their coffee is pretty alright, but for the price ($2.75 for the large if I remember) there are better deals to be had and they're a little slow. But its not bad by any means. And they have La Bagel Bagels.

I think Hancos is too sugary and ridiculously strong - tweaked me out for a full 24 hours. As did the small portion I got from Four and Twenty Blackbirds.

Gorilla is usually over-roasted but last time I had it it tasted better than usual. Naidre's is great. I hear they have a killer breakfast burrito. Ozzies is non-descript.

I had some noteably slow service and horribly burned un-drinkable beans at one place in particular - North Slope off 7th Ave and maybe Lincoln? Can't remember the name - A little shop around the corner - looks French or something I think? Man, first and only cup of coffee in my entire life that I have thrown out.
