I thought of Krow's comments on my way home from work yesterday, as a well-endowed thirty-something black woman played with her Iphone. Clearly unknown to her, one of her breasts had "escaped" from her low cut blouse.

...the entire subway car pretended not to notice, yet made eye contact with each other as we wondered what the protocol was. Some tried not snicker, others were just uncomfortable. Finally, another black woman alerted her to the issue.

And, life went on: The boob was put back in the blouse, and boob's "owner" continued to ride the subway to her destination.

The breast dropped out of the woman's shirt like a heavy brown fruit. Glimpsing it, a man across the train car suddenly recalled the face of his mother, who had passed away years ago. He smiled and closed his eyes, fixing his mother's image in his mind. Another man across the aisle, eyeing the breast, remembered the last time he had taken a woman's nipple into his mouth. He felt passion arise for his wife to whom he was returning. Another woman, noticing the breast rolling out of the blouse of the passenger beside her, was struck by its ripe beauty. "How seldom we see each other's bodies," she thought.

On a corner seat by the door, a man - white - was staring at the exposed breast, his eyes flashing derisive humor. Beside the one whom he looked at, a black woman noticed the man's expression and followed his sightline to the breast. When she glanced back, the man's gaze met hers. She reddened, and dropped her eyes. After a moment, she turned and whispered to the owner of the breast. The owner flushed, glanced about, then quickly drew the material of her blouse back over the luscious dark flesh, secreting it away again from all eyes.
