Beautiful White cat still needs home
We found her on Underhill tuesday, and she was back two nights in a row for food. She is most likely a dump because she was out long enough to get fleas & she's hungry HUNGRY. No one is posting lost notices for her, and she's definitely an indoor cat.
She's been living in my apartment for two days now, but with 3 other cats, it is getting to be very stressful where my husband won't sleep in the bedroom (she cries in the bathroom all night when we close her in) and the other cats have all been in hiding (we've let her out a couple of times, to great dismay of the others). There's no fighting, and she's quite nonchalant around them (I would bet she'd fit into a home with another cat just fine), they are just spoiled and used to having me to themselves.
She's a darling, just highly needy for love and affection. We had her vetted today, and she tested negative (-) for FELV & FIV; she got de-fleaed & vaccinated. They found a scar on her belly indicating she's been fixed. She's solidly litterbox trained, and is not destructive in anyway, purrs a TON and HIGHLY curious & talkative (the back-and-forth thing).
Please, if anyone knows of a good home or is willing to offer one, she'll be a wonderful friend.
We'll be putting posters up tomorrow.
thanks.

Hi,
I sent an email to your website's (kellyjelly) email address . . . I hope you got it. I'm interested in this beautiful young lady and would be absolutely willing to take her into a good home.
Thanks,
Lee -
Armchair Warrior — I'm sorry for confusing you in my title. It was sloppy to leave out the commas and I have edited the title so there's no longer any confusion. The cat's fur is white, as you can see from the pictures.
Lee — I did not get an email. How about PMing me on brooklynian. Thanks. -
Very pretty baby. She deserves a good home. Thanks for taking her in.

Kelly, this a gorgeous cat!!!

Just to clarify, Armchair was making a joke, because the Politics Board has been hot with discussions on race and, obviously, politics. Just some humor carried on from other threads. Your title was just fine. -
Thanks for clarification Mamacita. Not so good with the online humor and racism is certainly a touchy issue that I didn't want to mess with (it makes sense if it's going on elsewhere on the boards to joke here, but I am so unfamiliar with the bigger community trends on brooklynian).

I found her 8 days ago on Underhill Avenue. She's been in foster care this past week and went to a new home on Tuesday, but it's not working out because she is not mixing well with the cat they already have.
She's an amazing cat, so beautiful & affectionate, she is very curious, and chatty. You can pick her up and she purrs!!! She needs a good home. Please let your friends know if you do not want her. I don't want to put her back where I found her but I have run out of options (my husband will not let me bring her back into our home here).
She came spayed, and was vetted last week (de-fleaed, de-wormed, was checked for FELV and FIV and is negative for both).
Thanks

She is real actress, like any other cat. Hope that she already found proper home because winter is coming. Unfortunately I have allergy on cats.

Thanks for the good wishes. She has not found a home yet, but is passing the time happily in a good foster situation with 3 other cats and 2 humans. She's really a very loving & well behaved cat!

Saturday query:
Is this animal still without a home? -
She is still without a home... I need to make new posters and put around the neighborhood. Being that she moved around a bit her first week after rescue, I wanted to give her a stable home to calm down and feel happy again. She's been w me and my husband and three cats for a week now. But my huaband's allergic and he's paying the most (sacrificing his comfort) for having so many cats in our apt. We're also waiting for a good home for her, not just any home. She's a very well-trained cat and is easy going. She spends a lot of time between our bed and the fire escape where she loves watching the street and feeling the sun on her back!

Thank you for replying. She sounds like the kind of cat I have been yearning for, and we may be able to offer her a good home.
However, it's a big decision and I have to confer with the other parties involved (spouse, etc) before we make the leap! -
Oh Yowzer, I really hope you decide to take her. There's nothing like the love you get from a rescued animal. They really are grateful! There's also nothing like making curlies with a warm kitteh and watching movies on a cold winter's day.
-
Argh! I know! I had two rescue cats for many years, and they were great companions. I have now been catless for almost a decade. Changing life circumstances, and all that...To wit:
Sadly, my spouse is exercising veto power. Life has heaped so much stuff on us this year, adding to the plate just isn't going to happen right now. She feels very bad about it, and I hate not being able to step up and help out. Your cat is really the kind of cat I would like to have, if I could ever get concensus over here.
Good luck! -
This kitty has such unique markings: the dark ears and tail but white body. So lovely and gorgeous. Keep up hope, keep posting fliers, especially at the subway entrances and markets. She'll find a loving home, it takes time, stay positive :sunny: Don't forget the tips on the pets board "sticky" petfinder, craigslist, fido, etc...
BTW, for your husband: I'm totally allergic to my cat.. flonase & claritin help a lot. He's a rescue kitty too, I keep him out of the bedroom as a rule and an air purifier helps a lot. -
Thanks Mamacita... i just started a new semester at school and my computer's been in the shop for a week, so between being distracted and not having my usual tools to make more posters, re-homing Emmie (what we're calling her) is not a top priority for this week. She's getting acclimated, and even went over tonight to lick one of my cats asleep in the donut bed. SO CUTE. We have high standards so are willing to be patient. I know she's gonna find her special human one day soon!
My husband has his usual devices to keep the allergies at bay, for most part. I think he uses the generic for Claritin (forget the name)... and I clean A LOT and launder everything all the time (rugs, couch slip covers, etc). Plus we feed a good diet so that they are minimally (vs maximally) allergenic. We're old pros at having cats. Thanks for the advice and I'm REALLY glad you have a cat, too, and are able to figure out how to do that. They are really special, and I'm learning more every day how many cats need homes; it is a little disheartening, but we do what we can do... -
Contact Brooklyn Animal Action to see if you can list the cat on their Petfinder site as well as their Adopt-A-Pet site. I know that they often do courtesy listings. Their e-mail address is:
[email protected]
I always seem to find the best homes through Craig's List though but it's always good to post a lot of places.
Thanks for rescuing this kitty in need! -
Thanks so much for another resource. Shortly after taking her in my computer had to go to the shop for repairs... It's back, with her photos and all, so I feel more able to get the word out in many ways (vs the two between brooklynian and local posters)...

Subject: interested in white kitty
Hi there, is she still available for adoption? We live in PH. Do you have an email where I could reach you or a cell number? We may be able to adopt this sweet putty. Thank you. -
Hi Jel,
Feel free to private message (PM) me, I do not post my phone number / email address publicly. Thanks, -
unstickied at request of original poster.

This cat is still looking for a home, but because this discussion has gotten so long, and because there were people interested in her who've disappeared, or changed their minds, I feel people will not realize she's still available. We are keeping her well fed and loved, and will repost again in a couple of weeks. If anyone is interested, please let me know. thanks.
