Looking for a place in the slope! Any Tips?
Hey There,
As you can see by my handle I was born and raised here, and I'm looking for a new place and I'm tired of craigslist. Half of the park slope listings on there are in Bed-Stuy.
So I was wondering if anyone on here had 1 bedroom that's good for a couple with 2 cats under 1800? Or can refer me to a better place to look than CL...
And we'd rather not pay a fee...
Thanks, love this board.. Post or PM me...
Thanks

slope realty has no fee apartments but its usually in apartment buildings
-
Slope Realty owns all their own buildings and have a strict no pet rule.
Call brokers and tell them you are only interested in no fee....there are some out there now, you just have to be willing to look at some crap along the way.... -
I own a building in park slope and allow cats. Unfortunately, nothing available at this time.
However, I can tell you from my tenants experience with craigslist is that 5 out of 6 posts for apartments in park slope were actually not in park slope. Another common lie is the size of the apartment.
It will take some time for you to find a place, but they are out there. Just be vigilant.
.........all the best -
Actually Slope Realty has recently changed their pet policy for some of their apartments, so you might want to check with them anyway. I rent through them and like them a lot!

Exactly where is Slope Realty (I mean their office) located in PS?
-
7th Ave...pretty sure it's between 9th and 10th St, but if not it's between 10th and 11th
-
342 seventh avenue between 9/10 st they are on the north side about midway on the block

Don't rent from Arnold Rosenshein, he is a slum lord.

I know someone that is renting a 1 BR on the park w/backyard access/fireplace/ washer/dryer in apt for 2K. Let me know if you are interested.

You might have better results on Craigslist with a clever query. For example, when I was recently looking for a place in Prospect Heights, I had good luck with searching for "prospect heights" vanderbilt because anyplace that wasn't ten blocks into Crown Heights made sure to mention its proximity to the restaurants on Vanderbilt. You might try searching for Park Slope mentioning a specific subway stop or nearby amenity. It's certainly not foolproof but weeds out a lot of the worst offenders.
