CAT meowing behind 4th Pl and Clinton St — Brooklynian

CAT meowing behind 4th Pl and Clinton St

Grey tabby, with like a white triangle on face, meowing for the last 2 to 3 weeks.
He/She is behind 4th Place and just off Clinton Street. Keeps crying all the time. Perhaps he slipped in through a house when people moved out. And is stuck in the back yards? Breaks our heart, we hear him howl day and night. If anyone is missing a cat, perhaps this darling is yours??

  • Have you checked to see if the poor guy is wearing a collar? He may also be micro-chipped; I suggest you take him to the nearest shelter and see if they can identify him. Someone may be looking for him. Either way, at least he'll be fed and in a safe place. With any luck, he'll be adopted.
  • i am on the thrid floor on Clinton, he is on the 4th Place side. i can see him from my fire escape and hear him all the time. I do not have access to the yard, i wish the people who live there and actually shoo him away would do something. i was hoping that if anyone would recognize him/her by the description, i could tell them where he has been hanging around. breaks my heart.
  • Can you leave information with the building where he is located letting them know that you would like to help the cat? The people in the building may not know what to do with the cat and haven't intervened. I would recommend leaving them your contact info. I agree with AP, just get the cat to the nearest shelter in hopes that someone is looking for it. The cat is probably trapped back there and can't get out. How terrifying for the cat. I have had to do this before and people are very receptive about letting you through their apt to get the cat. If he is that vocal then he is friendly, scared, and trying to get help. I have a carrier that I can bring you if you need one.
  • thanks will go check out tomorrow good idea to talk to them. it is so awful. i just wish the folks who live in the house where he cries would do something, not just shoo him away.
  • if you cant get close enuff to check the tag etc..try takin a pic!
then post here, maybe someone can id him....good luck!
  • You must be talking about this cat! he/she has made my terrace home for the past week or so on Court and 4th Place, been feeding her, I think she feels safe here...

I've been searching to see if any one has reported this guy missing..

  • THAT'S THE CUTIE!!!!!! OMG, I am so happy you are feeding him/her. I spoke to the Court Street Vet y'day about rescue, but they said the ASPCA was the best bet. But they tend to put them down if they dont get adopted. Maybe you can get him in and get him to Kitty Kind. I adopted my 3 cats from Kitty Kind, they are very nice. we can take this off line if you want to chat. I am so grateful for you. I have not heard him cry in 2/3 days so that has to be him/her. my email is [email protected].
    thanks Kat :)
  • The ASPCA is a no kill shelter if you can get her/him there. 5th Avenue Cat Clinic in PS sometimes takes in rescued cats. I also have other ideas for you. Just PM me if you need other options.
