what're your opinions about the best deal for happy hour in the slope?

also, does anyone know offhand what the black pearl's happy hour deal is?

Comments

  • what/where is the black pearl?
  • Black Pearl is on Union bet 6/7 next to Tea Lounge. I've never been but it looks pretty nice inside. however they just put up this huge awning that I feel ruins the look of the facade. didnt need it.
  • Subject: black pearl

they actually have pretty good food, and saturday & sunday they have prix fixe brunch for $14.95 that includes UNLIMITED mimosas, champagne, and bloody marys!

and they serve you 3 eggs and 3 muffin halves with their eggs benedict - yum!

scottadito (across the street from the black pearl) also has a similar deal for $11.95, but their food isn't as good and they don't offer bloody marys.

it's great if you want to get drunk in the daytime!

Black Pearl's menu looked expensive to me, but I'm on a shoestring budget, so my perception could be warped. As a vegetarian, I immediately lost interest in their non-vegetarian menu, so my perception could be double warped. Not sure about the drinks.

naaaaaaaah, I mean, I haven't eaten there yet so I can't say it's reasonable for what they offer, however, I would say the pricing was fairly moderate/inexpensive for the atmosphere/food options. I have their take-out menu here and have to say, the menu is jam packed for options for every appetite. still no clue about their happy hour, lol
I know Night and Day on President and 5th seems to have a decent one. And they have that jazz room out back (havent been in there either but I know they have bookings nightly)
Funny thing about Night and Day is their food/service is truly like night and day. I refuse....REFUSE to ever brunch there again (dirty cups, bad service, burnt food, forgotten food!) however the dinners there have been spot ON. service, amazing. bizarre. Great burger and fantastic little salad of fresh ricotta/arugula. really, really nice. And theirs a pasta dish with mussels that's worth the trip in itself.
Again, original post asked for best happy hour deal....I dunno. I usually kick it old school and have friends over or go out for drinks after work in Manhattan.
