Gentrification iz real
I was in the hood today for a burger after doing some laps in PP... I should have taken a picture
But on the corner of Franklin + St Johns I believe there is a phone booth... on that phone booth is a sheet of paper w/listings for apartments. So what, Cool? Well the addresses of the apartments is what intrigued me. I didn't scan through the whole list but some E 90th st (aka Flatbush I believe) area apts popped up. It was just a kind of stark reminder of the flows and displacements taking place.
Also, a side but probably equally important anecdote... that burger spot connected to Franklin Park = great. Best burger I've had in the hood, and I believe I've had them all.
Anyway just thought that was interesting.

yo cool a few more of those laps should be done in the big ring...Alberto eats steak and burgers for recovery ..

that burger is fucking overrated. but not so much as it is overpriced.
-
Homage was better.
-
five guys is the place i like. Soda has a good burger, and onion rings.

The paper you are referring to is regularly posted throughout Brooklyn and not necessarily indicative of displacement. I've seen it in Flatbush, Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Canarsie, and Brownsville. I thnk it was created by an upstart, "self-made" realtor.

Are you trying to spark a gentrificonfrontation? We haven't had one of those here in a little while. *makes popcorn* -

What's it been, a week? Mdgate must like popcorn and be looking for an excuse to eat some. -
I agree that I see those same exact fliers out in East Flatbush too and I doubt there is a big displacement issue there.
For the burger I only have had the veggie but don't think its worth the price at all. Homage is really missed and Soda's is better too. I get fries there sometimes when I am already there drinking, but otherwise the food is too much money for not great taste -
Soda takes forever.
....Bristens had a good burger, but somehow could not figure out that consumption of red meat is best with beer.
Hopefully their new menu and name will bring more customers. -

People are buzzing about it opening as a dumpling place....?

Mr Fingerbang??? And by big ring do you mean CP? If they had a way to bypass the lower loop I would do it, but I like PP more. It's more challenging.
And damn you guys for having more local food choices than me... I really miss Zaytoons. I'm gonna be in BK a lot next summer -

CTK, we are soon going to be one of the few places in the city with good food AND a lot of shootings. ....we know you miss us! -

Big ring means big ring not anything about a park it has to do with your bike. bigring.net -

BK's just got a feel I just can't shake. But it's something I can only enjoy as a visitor. Couldn't move back, though I wish I was closer. -
HOMAGE! Dutch Boy is bad vibes and high prices
-
Dutch boy is a joke. I hate it that Matt Hoff and company have fanboys. I ordered the shrimp po' boy one day... i should have snapped a picture. I opened it up and there were THREE (3) shrimps inside all doused with this sauce stuff. On top of that, the "poor" boy cost $11. more bread that meat and veggies combined. rip.
Homage made an OK burger. Fries were their hook.
I like the Teddys burger, around here. Sidecar (in park slope) used to be my favorite burger, but now Lot2 is. Check that one out (on 6th ave/20th). best burger hands down, and the house pickles are to die for.
And if you want a po' boy, go to two boots on 2nd st and 7th ave.
Howdy, Stranger!
