hmm is it our locale target? or just the crazy ones out in the bible belt. cause alot of business that want to survive out there, they generally follow the morals of the locale comunity.
nope, it's ALL targets. which, if you think about it, is nuts considering their conservative politics and then having an isaac mizrahi line.

and it's not a matter of not telling, i'll know deep down. can't do it.

all the more power to ya sister! right on!!! :)

I'll join ya in this boycott.
  • I hate when stores do stupid shit like this. Maybe they can pay for the care and upbringing of an unwanted child until they turn 18.

great idea anyone who advocates the girls should keep babys should be automatically tax and given their money to kids.

makes me crazy. but they just join the list of other businesses i won't have anything to do with: curves, anthropologie, urban outfitters, pizza hut, wal-mart, coors, among others...
  • I know about Curves and Wal-mart, but not sure what's up with the others.

The important question is really: Does your list include the co-op?
  • we should get a split topic on here about what places to boycott :).

anthropologie and urban are owned by a guy, former hippie, who's a huge contributor to rick santorum's career (you know, the senator/representative who likened homosexuality to bestiality and incesst). coors, one of the coors guys ran for office on a pro-life platform. pizza hut's people fund operation rescue...

that's something i can say about the coop; i doubt those politics exist there.
  • i personally boycott urban outfitters cause they are bunch of racist but thats something else.
  • Ah, I had hear that before. I personally boycott Coors because their beer sucks ass.

Funny, that's not what I think of when I hear "santorum"...

What's the deal with Curves? I know they discriminate against men :) and won't let us join, but otherwise I'd assumed they were pretty benign.
  • Flexichick wrote: Ah, I had hear that before. I personally boycott Coors because their beer sucks ass.
I've been boycotting Coors since the family was implicated in funding the Contras. And their beer sucks ass.
  • Curves CEO is pro-life and many of their locations preach about it

Ah - thank you. Too lazy to look it up and as mentioned previously haven't been in one of their locations because they discriminate against my sort.

what's most curious is that the curves on 9th street has a huge sign on the door saying that they welcome ALL people.

i believe, last year, someone pro-choice wrote to the NYT ethicist guy and said she was conflicted because she liked curves, but was sickened that some of their profits went to pro-life causes. ethicist guy told her what i'd tell her: you can't go there anymore if you feel that way.

I believe you mean Domino's. That accusation itself is discussed at length at snopes:

    http://www.snopes.com/business/alliance/domino.asp

(Nutshell: Domino's itself does not support pro-life groups, although founder Tom Monaghan openly has. I think I'm getting this right. Better to read it yourself.)

I hope you haven't been buying Domino's Pizza all this time to punish Pizza Hut. Actually for your sake I hope you don't buy either of them.

    yes, dominos. sorry!
  • Both Domino's and Pizza Hut are worth boycotting on grounds of taste alone.

I never understood how they could survive in a city with as many pizza parlors as we have.

I also never understood why they're called pizza parlors... :?
