One of your favorite neighborhood blogs and development organizations (Nostrand Park, ahem) has the opportunity to win $5,000 towards community development initiatives for Crown Heights!!

OUR IMPACT

In the past 2 years, Nostrand Park has been at the forefront of placemaking initiatives in Crown Heights:
  • - we have launched over 800 posts about neighborhood entrepreneurs, mom and pops, events, artists and community organizations
  • - we rallied 12 local teens to volunteer to plant flowers, pick up trash, and clean Franklin Avenue in CHCA's clean up day
  • - and of course now, the big project that we are working on is Destination Nostrand, which entails merchant organizing, retail attraction, and clean-up and planting of Nostrand Avenue.
We did all that with an unpaid, volunteer staff. Imagine what can be accomplished in Crown Heights for $5,000!

TO VOTE

All you have to do is navigate to this webpage and click the button to the right. You may have to create an account or just sign in with Facebook. You can vote up to 5 times per day (and there are some other Crown Heights folks that you may want to share your votes with) every day until October 15th.

    Nostrand Park is one of the only organizations specifically dedicated to community economic development and commercial revitalization in Crown Heights - projects like district marketing, retail attraction, commercial corridor clean-up, and job creation. If you are interested in supporting these types of initiatives in the neighborhood, do vote!
