Da Cake Spott will always be my favorite.

maybe I'm wrong, but that pizza place on Washington near St. Marks I think..... It is on the west side of Washington near the good beer distributer. It says pizza but as far as I know it's never been opened.

It was once open. It tired to sell prepared indian food and pizza at the same time.
Major identity crisis. so-so at both.
....it was somehow connected to the now closed indian/pakistan bodega thing that is next door to it. -
^^^ Had the pizza once. I was reminded of the Pillsbury dough that you pop out of a can and unroll. Sauce was not much better.

Walked past said weird Indian and Pizza place and it was being gutted. Any idea if something new is going in?

I knew should I should have gone with "what shops have gone out of business due to an identity crisis or from being no good?"
-
I saw them pouring a new concrete floor yesterday, but didn't ask them whether they were they were new owners or tenants.
I'm still amazed that the landlord or the former crown chicken space remains vacant.
....it's been over a year at this point -

"frozen yogurt on vanderbilt that was closed on Sundays during the summer" for $500 please -

I was just thinking that as well. -
"I sold it on Ebay" place on Flatbush was also weird. I could understand if it functioned like a pawn shop, but it didn't. I think it was open for 6 months, max

No, it was definitely open longer than that--because I often marveled at it after watching The 40 Year Old Virgin, which featured a similar store. I had no idea how it stayed open. Remember the Yoda in the window?
What about the burrito place on 4th Ave between St. Marks and Bergen? Or the fabled takeover of Mule by the Cherry Tree folks (who seem to be now opening a pizzeria on the other side of Cherry Tree)? Or the "laundromat" on 5th Ave near Union that's had permits for the last... a whole lot of years? -

I'm on "hey! good morning!" terms with the guy that seems to do some kind of maintenance of the building. They have a tenant, and I've seen build-out work happening, but it seems that funding is a little tight and has stalled, for now. Catering of some sort.

I am very impressed at the speed of the renovation done on the former "windowless tax return and instant refund" place ....and wonder what will go in there.
They pub big windows in, but it doesn't seem to have tenants yet.
(Same side of Washington as the former Crown Chicken, but closer to the Detective Police Castle)
I'd like the car repair place located at the split of Washington and Grand to be renovated next. ....but I'm not sure what I would put there.
....I'm still sorta depressed the Checkers hamburger place didn't open a location at Washington and Empire, despite saying it was going to. -

A friend was musing that outdoor eating would be great there. I could see.
