Crocheting in Park Slope...

I would love to learn. Any suggestions on where? Are there any groups that get together regularly?

    Stitch Therapy (5th Avenue between 3rd & 4th Street) has classes - I learned to knit there

    check meetup.com, there are two different knitting groups on there which i've been to. one was Prospect Heights and the other was Park Slope. the PH one is a bit smaller, the PS one is bigger but has more than a couple very very skilled folks who're usually willing to help out. the PH one does too, but it's more hit-or-miss due to the smaller size of the group.

    The NYC Crochet Guild meets in NYC on the first Thursday evening of each month and has other activities, too. You can get their info at www.nyccrochetguild.org One of their other activities is a meeting at the Citicorp center every Wed evening. Crocheters there are always willing to help other crocheters.

    The Brooklyn Fiber Guild meets at the main branch of the NYPL in Grand Army Plaza. I forget their website, but if you google them, you can probably find them. It's relatively new, but seems to be well organized. And of course offers more than crocheting.

    La Casita on Smith St, I believe also offers crochet classes.

    And I am a certified crochet teacher. I no longer have a yarn store home, but I teach at various places, most recently in the area at the Open Center. If you'd be interested in a private lesson in the general PS area, feel free to contact me.

    Crocheting is certainly lots of fun--I hope you find a group and/or teacher that suits you and teaches what you want to learn.

    I'm a huge fan of Brooklyn General on Union Street in Carroll Gardens. Also check at the Textile Arts Center (http://www.textileartscenter.com), which is a godsend to us fiber junkies.
