Technically it was Wednesday when we saw this. One of the partners, Gerard, just put it on the sign out front because last night was kinda slow on the strip. -
Popped in with friends for a drink and snacks. It did not dissapoint.
Will be going back often. -
Wings are 25 cents again today until 8.
-
Or until eaten.
-
And then it kicks in again from midnight to 2am!
-
The bourbon glazed wings were fantastic. Served till 2am? Might have to pop out for a midnight snack.
-
Mougar and I stopped in again tonight. Wings were 25 cents again. Count me solidly within the Branded fans camp. And Gerard is awesome.
-
Free vodka promo going on right now.
-
Yes, the free vodka was great. Branded was packed tonight.
-
My wife and I stopped by here a few times recently. The wings were great, very delicious sauce (right mix of sweetness and salt). Pretty good burger, too. One thing I've tried in the past is the frito pie, which sounds weird but actually works well as a dish. I hope the recent incident hasn't impacted business (it's been quiet the past few times we've gone). Then again, we've gone relatively early, so my hopefully the later-night crowd is packing the place. Anyone know?

It's been hit and miss when I've been there. And for once, I agree with Jack about something. The Branded wings hit the spot, and I like the Frito pie too. Also, with a kitchen open until 3 am every night, they have the latest food available on that stretch of Vanderbilt. Those wings are awesome at 3am. -
It seems the least popular of the bars on Vandy. (there were open stools when I walked by around 10 PM last night)
Not to be coy, but its "Branding" could use some help ....the music it plays is incongruous with its western decor.
It's kinda odd. -

Agreed. Also, it seems *really* bright for a bar -- I made it the last stop on a Vandy crawl a while ago and it was so bright. Kinda a mood killer after darkly lit bars all night.

FTFY

I have been in there a couple of times pre and post tragedy. All the people seem cool and didn't have the food yet. Super Wings has dropped out of my traffic pattern so good wings are always welcome

totally agree. last time i was there it was pleasant enough but they were playing bad 80s pop. i had assumed that the c/w theme would carry through to the music. -
That's a good point. I think there's a definite fan base for country in this neighborhood, so I'm sure if they played more of it, especially the old stuff, it would be welcome.

Not sure if this is sarcastic, but I'll reply anyway
I would absolutely love a Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, bluegrass + country-rock music bar. The opposite to the snotty hipster alternative music Willbilly bar. I would adore a bar like Yogi's in brooklyn. -
I wouldn't go there every night, but I could go there once and a while.
Could be a lot of fun! -
Do they have any nights where they do play country music?
-

yes! and emmylou, townes, willie nelson, steve earle, lucinda, etc. that's what i'd thought it was going to be.
but i guess we have to settle for decor. -

I really thought they would go with this type of atmosphere. If they just committed to it, people would love it. -
Some nights they've had Rockabilly stuff playing, which sort of seemed more of a fit at least. Personally, I actually prefer it that they're not too crazy about sticking to the theme bar thing.
-
They could at least have one night a week (say, Friday) where they where they celebrated country music.
....given that we are in Brooklyn, it would be doofus, but fun. -
I like rockabilly! I can get behind that.
-
i'd be totally happy with a broad definition of country, incorporating everything from rockabilly to country blues to bluegrass. it was when they started playing "eye of the tiger" that it just felt wrong.
-
I wasn't being sarcastic at all. I enjoy country and know that many in the area also like it. Hopefully the owners will read this and make some changes.

Who knows, maybe I new bar called "Totally 80s" will open up on Vanderbilt and play a broad country mix... -
One of our own, Whatchuwant, was behind the bar last night. Good times!
