The cat loves mint, so weird

I picked some mint sprigs and placed them in my canvas bag. When I got home I tossed the bag on a chair and the cat jumped on the chair and started seriously sniffing and licking my bag! I was confused, then I remembered the mint was in there and pulled it out. I snapped some off and gave it to him. He was so happy. It was like catnip to him. I pinched a leaf to release more of the sent and oils he chewed and ate the leaf.

I may need to grow some mint in a pot for him, cuz his breath is naaastay and this is a good thing. :D

  • catnip is in the mint family, so maybe it isn't that weird.
  • Yeah, I read that when I did a search to make sure it wasn't bad for him. It's really cute, he's loving the stuff. Has anyone else had this experience with their pet or another random herb/food?
  • when i come back from the community garden, the cats go nuts throwing themselves on my shoes. there's a lot of mint growing by the paths there, so maybe that's why.
  • catnip is a type of mint. That is why your cat loves your mint and would probably love any mint!
