Heh, being from Miami, I sometimes get a random craving for Pizza Hut. But I like it for nostalgic reasons!
do you dip it in ranch dressing? Apparently this is a big thing in certain southern states -
omggggg pizza and ranch dressing
HINT: ranch dressing goes with ANYTHING, esp pizza, fried chicken nuggets/fried chicken sandwiches (chickfila specifically) and french fries. And burgers
omg now i want pizza with ranch. must...leave...this...thread... -

ha ha ha...sorry, Carmen....I do that all the time. Somebody mentions something online and I *have* to have it. NOW -

I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I like dabs of chipotle mayo on pizza. I never ever do this in public. It's rather shameful!
At least I freshly make the chipotle mayo! -
^^^^
[-X :pukel:
<---hates mayo.....I was in St. Croix and met a bunch of people from Mississippi who did the ranch dressing thing. It was ok. -

Absolutely! And from Seattle, so it's not just a southern thing.

Papa John's has one-click web ordering. That is the only good thing about their pizza.

thats a sweet feature, one reason i order from home. -

A can of Chef Boyardee has a pop top. That does not mean you have to eat it out of the can. -

And it's the only place around here that I can order online from. Our address sounds really confusing and is like a round of "who's on first", and part of it's oddity means Seamless web's site won't let me register. Being able to type my address in on papajohns.com has lead me to use them when I don't have the patience for it all.
Okay, I admitted my southern heart still likes some PJ's thin crust every now and then. Oh, and they are open later than most pizza joints around here. -

another reason i order from them is they open super late!!! that and a hala street food joint and Kennedy fried chicken joint in Brighton beach
i eat like past midinight hehe. -
My curiosity will not be quelled until I see a photo of this disgusting pizza! Get it uploaded!
-
the online ordering is a huge feature. i wish delivery.com had better restaurants
-
I can think of a lot of PS restaurants that I'm glad do not offer online ordering, it would be the death of me. And my bank account. One-click Blue Ribbon sushi? I'd be hosed.

realized I never posted the pic. Screw you Papa Johns:

Your kiddin' right? I use the internet for everything, but pizza? I'm on the phone all of twenty seconds with Pino's, $16.50 for a pepperoni pie at my door on the other side of Flatbush in Prospect Heights in 30 mins. (I tip tho)
-
the amount of snobbery exhibited by those in new york about their pizza is ridiculous.
fast food pizza is fast food pizza. no more, no less. it shares a name with authentic pizzas from much better sources, but we all know it's not the same thing. even though i wholeheartedly agree that pizza in new york is better quality, i want to punch new yorkers every time i hear them talking about it. it's pompous, arrogant foodie snobbery.
i'll order from a papa johns when i want that kind of pizza and i'll get a greasy new york slice when i want that kind. or i'll go to an authentic italian place and get something really special when i want that. what's the harm in all of them existing? Get over yourselves. -

no harm in phone ordering for sure but i have taken to ordering on the internet whenever i have things delivered. i had several times in the past where my orders were messed up out of difficulty communicating with various places (both pizza and otherwise) or just human error. i like the online order because they have a hard copy of your exact order and any specific instructions. since i started ordering that way, i've had everything prepared right, even when i've made unusual requests. granted, it might be luck more than anything. but if they ever do screw it up, the evidence will be on my receipt. -

I agree there's no need to insult someone over their choice of pizza, but I have to admit I'm as perplexed as everyone else why someone in Brooklyn would get pizza from there. Even the worst pizza joint's going to be better than PJs, Doms or the Hut. And it's not going to be more convenient, pizza parlors are everywhere. And it can't be because they're too expensive.
But what I find even more odd is that after 10 months the person is still stewing over this - maybe because they're probably still tasting that pizza, I don't know. Is this for real, or was this just to get everyone's goat? It's like if I put up a post asking which store-bought frozen bagel is the best, I'd probably get death threats. -
Those things are not bagels.

papa john's ad along side this thread. awesome.

saram wrote: papa john's ad along side this thread. awesome.
You're not kidding, that is truly awesome! And a Domino's ad above it. So that answers the big question as to why someone would order from there - they were a victim of Internet advertising.
It's all the Brooklynian's fault.
So here's the even bigger question: How can the Brooklynian be a real Brooklynite if it's going to run ads for something that should be considered a hate crime in this borough? -
i ate papa johns pizza last night because of this thread. i loved it and don't feel the need to apologize.

You don't have to apologize, but you should wonder why you live here. -

Because of a thread on an internet message board?
Hmm.
Hey, who else really hates local poop sandwiches? I think they are low-class. I only get my poop sandwiches from Fancy Foreign Earth Basket Mart. -

You don't have to apologize, but you should wonder why you live here.
tell me, do you eat a gourmet meal for every meal? and when, exactly, when did you become so amazing? i live in new york because i love the city... not because i passed the new yorker pizza test. there is, believe it or not, a lot more to love about this city than just pizza.
that being said, i already said earlier that we all know new york pizza is a better quality than papa johns. but they aren't even the same type of food. it's irrelevant.
but thanks for proving my point about arrogant new york foodies. you can enjoy good food without being a jerk. i promise you that it's possible. real new yorkers haven't figured that part out yet. and they're so proud of themselves for that fact. -
