  • Ralph avenue here I come!

    You coming with?
  • no, u go....
  • just walked by and there is a sign that says "closed for renovation"....
  • That's consistent with what Nick @ ILFA was stating.
I've found him to be correct most of the time.

    Facts are our friends
  • Well, I guess if ILFA says so, it gotta be right, no?
  • Time will tell
  • 3D's seems to do this every year or so. The last time the closed for renovations they reopened and everything pretty much looked the same. Not sure what's actually going on there, as whynot says, time will tell.
  • The King is vegan!

MHA some of your posts sound terribly bitter and racist. Maybe it's time for you to move to Brownsville. It seems to be safe from a "White takeover" Franklin Avenue is changing because of it's location. If people whether homeowners or businesses realized years ago the amenities of the location and took advantage of them than maybe their investments would have been more successful. And maybe the area could still be a viable black neighborhood with roti shops and nail salons... Oh and black people buy knitted scarves too !
  • I'm a vegetarian. And while whynot is an omnivore, we like vegan burgers.
  • Well yes vegan burgers are good, Dr. Praegers are the only ones I can vouch for...
  • Wow, another person calling me a racist...
  • ilovefranklinave wrote: Hey, spoke to the 3Ds folks a few days ago - they're not closing, just renovating. The patties and hard dough shall return.

Also, I've been trying to put together a two-year look at commercial change on Franklin, which should be up on the blog by the end of the weekend or Monday.

    Nick
Nick, any idea when this place will reopen? Everytime I see this thread, I think about thier yummy food.
  • Jamrok closer t Eastern Parkway is a great substitute.
  • No idea - I wandered into that business meeting laura782 saw and they said they were still figuring it out. I've seen some folks going in and out in the interim, but nothing much to report beyond that.

Does JamRock do hard dough? I went into 3Ds a couple of years ago to get some bread for stuffing, and the lady behind the counter gave me a fantastic recipe for hard dough stuffing that I've used ever since. The family will be displeased if I can't produce any this year. Where's the place to get it on Nostrand if JRK doesn't have it?

Oversize post up on the blog now tallying up new businesses/renovations/closed businesses over the past couple of years - check it out if you're interested and tell me what I forgot.
  • Nick can you divulge where this wine shop is going to be?
  • Not sure, actually - I've heard Sterling and Franklin (the place across from the soon-to-be Chavella's spot) and also further north in one of those storefronts that MySpace is cleaning up.
