I just had dinner at Piquant on Flatbush, after meaning to get there since they re-opened over a year ago, and I have to say, it was really good! I had a mango mojito, which tastes a LOT better than it sounds, and it was the best mixed drink I've had in the neighborhood - including at The Vanderbilt.

The food was good, the presentation beautiful, the prices reasonable, and the place was worrisomely empty.

I've got no connection to Piquant other than just having dined there for the first time, but I would like to see good neighborhood restaurants stay in business.

So go try it out! They could not have been nicer.....

Excellent place--nice small plates and also interesting array of entrees. Worth a visit if you haven't been there. Hope they stick around...

Despite living only two blocks away I only recently discovered this place. Its deceptively large. I had alfresco brunch there and was surprised to find such a large and pleasant garden. Portions were fairly small but that's fine with me. I'd rather have something samll and tasty- and it was!

I'm looking forward to going there in the Summer.

When I was there the portions were BIG, not small.....the roasted vegetable salad was enough for 2 people easily - a huge plate of delicious roasted veggies with nice goat cheese on toasted bread.....my chicken skewers appetizer was enough for a main course, and all beautifully presented. I don't like The Vanderbilt because when I spend $100 on dinner with my husband (including a drink) I don't like to come out of the place still hungry, which I did at The Vanderbilt. But at Piquant, not at all. I was super-hungry and felt very well fed with 2 apps and a drink for dinner.
