6 car windows smashed out on Sterling Place last night

Sorry to be a buzz kill, but crime on Sterling seems up lately. or has it always been this way in spurts?
I'm taking between Underhill/ Wash.

    Different hood, but I counted 12 today on Prospect Ave between 7th and 3rd.

    What the hell is going on? It doesn't look like anything is being stolen,just smashed.

    The word from a neighbor, who is a cop and spoke to our precinct is that 9 blocks were targeted by a group. the thinking is that they drove by in a car and randomly shot at cars with pellet guns. no thefts involved.
    awful stuff. many neighbors had to awake to shattered car windows when they left home this morning.

    if kids are shooting out windows in the area i bet a glass shop is paying them to do it.....

    Just in case it isn't kids shooting out windows with pellet guns for profit, always remember to not leave anything on the dashboard, rear window shelf, or the seats of your car. Also, don't place anything in the trunk when you park the car at night, only remove what is going into your home with you. You never know who's watching.

    It might not be a bad idea for a number of neighbors on each block to aim their webcams out of their windows at night. You might catch a glimpse of a face, an automobile or even a license plate. Anything the police can use to bring these perpetrators to justice.

    ....it would be very odd to protest a bike lane by breaking windows on PPW and Sterling Place.

    I miss journalism.

    i dunno based on that logic shouldnt it have been the bike lane haters... i mean its a conspiracy to spread shattered glass in the offending bike lane to cause flat tires on the bikes and maybe create a dangerous condition that if a biker tries to brake while passing over shattered glass he could slide off his bike...... yeah thats the ticket lol

    the article in gothamist is really gross stupidity... and my remarks about it being the bike lane haters is just sarcasm... before someone thinks its gospel lol
