and i bet your car had a scratch on it when you returned.
-
I've actually seen him do this to someone else, too. -
Good for you, no one is allowed to reserve a parking spot on a public street, unless of course it is the city government for their own employees, but that's another story. -
i don't care about scratches any more
. didn't bother to check for it. -
which leads to today's edition of Storytime With Whynot!
Once upon a time, Whynot lived in a very exclusive suburb in Westchester. Whynot lived in the suburb's ugliest apartment.
Everyday, Whynot rode Metro North to the city. Sometimes, he would be the only person in jeans while everyone else was in a suit. Most days everyone on the train got along with each other and we peacefully read our New York Times.
However, one day the following happened:
Whynot politely asked a guy who was sitting on a two seat bench if he would move his bag, so he could sit next to him. The guy feigned as if he could not hear Whynot. Whynot asked again, and the guy made eye contact with Whynot, but then said nothing.
While making good eye contact, Whynot then picked up guy's the bag, and put it securely on the guy's lap. The guy stated "hey, that's my bag". Whynot stated "yes, I am putting it on your lap."
Whynot then sat down beside the guy, took the day's NYT from his bookbag, and read it while sitting beside him all the way to the city. The guy glared at Whynot the entire time, about 50 minutes.
Then just before it was his stop, Whynot asked the guy "do you want my New York Times? I am done with it". The guy declined.
....twas excellent.
(good job armchair) -
Whynot if it wasnt for your deep seated hatred of us motor vehicle operators as opposed to bicyclists , we could probably sit at a bar somewhere and have a couple of beers and have a grand old timeswapping stories.. You did the same exact thing i would have done in your situation... I raise my coffee mug in a toast to you -
I am not aware that I hate motor vehicle operators, but cheers. -
Yeah, with a career background operating vehicles in both the moving and public transportation businesses, he's been perhaps one of the busiest drivers here at various times.
He's definitely been a motor vehicle operator (and by trade, at that), moreso than most here.
Also in terms of "moreso than most here," just ask him about parking tickets.
