Trouble finding presentation supplies in Crown Heights! — Brooklynian

Trouble finding presentation supplies in Crown Heights!

Hi folks, I'm looking for a few items in North Crown Heights to avoid taking the train with them from Downtown Brooklyn. I know there are a lot of random-stuff-stores on Fulton, Nostrand, and Kingston, but I don't know how to pick and choose!

Does anyone know where I can find these items in the area?

  • Foam core

  • Rolls or large sheets (11x17 and up!)

  • Paints / art supplies

If you could help, it would be so appreciated!

  • Whoops, for "Rolls or large sheets" I meant to add "of paper".

  • Good luck. In all honesty I can't think of any. I generally trek to either office max at atlantic terminal or Barclays on livingston downtown. I would love some leads on this too!

  • I don't know of anywhere locally. In terms of good options, the bookstore at Pratt (Myrtle and Hall??) is my goto place for serious art supplies. Instead of dragging everything back on the train, you'd have to schlep it on the bus, but they will have anything you need.

  • Dekalb avenue theres an art store (Big Apple? ) i think it is near the corner of Clinton (or ryerson?) right near the entrance of the Pratt University. other than that theres an art store on the ground floor of metro tech, last i checked. near national grids office.

  • Atlantic terminal may be your best option or the staples on 4th ave and 3rd Street?

  • Another vote for the Pratt store--Myrtle and Ryerson IIRC--with prices just about as low as Pearl Paint.

  • Pratt Store. Not a far bike if you're adept at balancing art supplies on your handlebars. Big Apple is $$$. Pearl Paint is bankrupt and closing. Pratt Store prices aren't bad and staff is super helpful... Or just order online: http://www.dickblick.com/

  • There's a 99 cent store on Franklin that has some stuff....

  • Ahh, thanks much folks. Good call with the store by Pratt.

MHA — do you happen to know the cross-street to the Franklin Ave 99 cent shop?

  • The store on Franklin is Mazon, on Franklin bet. Lincoln and St. Johns, western side of block.

However, I don't believe I've ever seen foam core or rolls of paper in there...
