How/Where can I donate a Thanksgiving turkey?

I will receive a free frozen turkey from the supermarket. I would like to donate it to a local organization. Thanks

  • You might call ahead and ask CHIPS (Christian Help in Park Slope)

at 200 4th Ave at Sackett Street if they can use it.

They're open for donations mostly just before their main Noon lunch meal for those in need (regardless of faith).

I seem to recall that they do a Thanksgiving thing with turkey but I'm not sure so definitely give 'em a call.

    Great idea, good luck!

  • a lot of grocery stores let you "Get" the free one but they actually keep the physical turkey and donate it for you. Maybe ask at the store...
