Oven Repair

Dial Appliance Service 718-368-1512. I remember the technician being very helpful by recommending good ideas for prolonging lifespan of our washer and fridge. I can't recall the price specifically, but it must have been fair considering I still have the number in my notes. -
Had a good experience with AB Drimmers a while back on our oven. -
We've also used Dial Appliance numerous times, and have been happy with their service.
We purchased all of our major kitchen appliances from AB Drimmer (their prices are the very lowest we could find, and they delivered when promised), but we never knew (until now) that they also have a repair service. -
How old is your oven?
I learned the hard way that fixing old appliances is not a good idea, they won't ever work as good as they did when new and, they most likely will brake again soon.
You may be better getting a new one. I really like to cook on gas but electric ovens rule for baking. -
I'd say its about 8-10 yrs old. I think is an issue with the pilot light as the broiler still works. Replacing it is not a simple thing for a host of reasons, so if I can get it working again that would be my first choice.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'll let you know how it goes. -
i would get a new one, fixing anything in a disposable society cost almost same as a new one. -
I'm curious, what kind of gas stove do you have? Why would it be hard to replace?
-
Its an in-wall oven, and is really too small both for the size of our home and for my personal preference. I don't want another in-wall unit and would prefer a free standing stove. To do that, I'd need significant renovations to our kitchen (removing some unused cabinets, relocating the sink, removing the existing stovetop, etc).
I'm not very interested in taking out one appliance that doesn't really suit my needs to replace it with another one. In addition, I can't replace it with a larger in wall unit without resizing the cabinet its in, which again gets me back to renovations for something I don't really want.
We've committed to a kitchen renovation as the next big item for our house, but as things currently stand we're probably a year away from that, so its simple fixes for the time being.
