I agree, for the most part, except when it comes to public school meals and snacks. The White Stuff is just as bad, health-wise, as tobacco.

Reading is fundamental.SF is NOT banning happy meals. Fast food places are no longer allowed to use toys to market meals to children that are over 600 calories.
SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco lawmakers have voted to override Mayor Gavin Newsom's veto and to pass a law prohibiting fast-food restaurants from including toys with children's meals that do not meet nutritional guidelines.
The city's Board of Supervisors gave the measure final approval with an 8-3 vote on Tuesday. It goes into effect in December 2011.
The ordinance prohibits toy giveaways in fast-food children's meals that have more than 640 milligrams of sodium, 600 calories or 35 percent of their calories from fat.
The law also limits saturated fats and trans fats and requirex fruits or vegetables to be served with each meal that includes a toy.
Supervisor Eric Mar, the measure's chief sponsor, says the ordinance will help "create healthier choices."

It's a half ass law. Either ban these meals outright, or leave it alone. Not including a toy in one's meal isn't going to stop a parent from buying their five year old a cheap junk lunch.

point of a happy meal incudes a toy reading is fundamental my ass.

The idea is to lessen the incentive for kids to demand unhealthy food. Toys for kids with happy meals is like a tobacco company offering a wide screen tv to everyone who can prove he has purchased and smoked five cartons of unfiltered cigarettes... Whatever it takes to get you addicted, 'cause then they got you for life.
C'mon, Armchair, take one for the team! Give up the toy in your happy meal, and maybe there'll be fewer unhappily obese boys and girls.

doesn't stop people from smoking with or without big screen.
