A Good Dentist in Park Slope/Boerum Hill

I go to Dr. D'Arco. He and his partner Dr. Tehrani are on President b/w 4th and 5th. So far, so good with them -- really clean, modern office. He's not gonna be your best friend or anything, but he is no-nonsense and good at what he does. Info's here: http://www.parkslopedentistry.com/
If you need an oral surgeon, I can not recommend Dr. Baker at Park Slope Oral Surgery enough. He's done two extractions for me and they've been incredibly easy -- plus he's really friendly and kinda cute, if that's your type http://www.parkslopeoralsurgery.com/

I probably need a root canal, but I don't know if that qualifies as "oral surgery". Seems to me that most - uh - normal(?) dentists handle that. My last dentist did a root canal on me but the cap he put on :? . . . . well I should spare all the gory details.
Oh, and no . . . I'm not looking for a "hot" Dentist. I don't doubt there are people intrigued by some handsome guy sticking his hands in their mouth . . . but I'm not. Strictly business as far as that goes. -
there's a couple of dentist threads here if you do a Search
I go to Emil Sabbione and his newish partner in the biz whose name escapes me. They are up by the park, near Union on Plaza St.
Everything I want in a dentist....just dentistry and Saturday hours.
Dentists do root canals, or send you to endontists. Oral surgeon is something else (I was recently corrected on these distinctions... ) -
Moshman, Sussman and Moshman are really good, if you're willing to hike down to Carroll Gardens. Not particularly friendly or personable, but they're never running late and the office is really nice.

If you don't mind taking a train ride to Kings Highway & E. 14th Street I can very highly recommend Dr. Mitchell Koonin. I've been using him for 20 years, and he's the nicest, gentlest, most professional and PAINLESS dentist ever.
His number is 718-232-3255. -
Robert Rosenkranz is located at 300 8th Avenue. I go to him and think that he is an excellent dentist.

Lots of recommendations here. Possible shillers aside, I went to Rosenkranz and was a very satisfied customer. -
Do any local dentists do regular cleanings for under $100?

I just had a root canal done by Dr. Michael Collura in Manhattan. He limits his practice to only root canals. I took the F train and got off at Lexington Ave. I had a 10:30 apt. and at 11 I walking around Bloomingdales which is a stone throw from his office. The root canal was in a molar so there were 2 roots. The tooth was alive so I could have felt pain but I had none..not even a twinge. I have been to many dentists but no one could come close to his skill and professionalism. He says that he loves his work and has always wanted to be a dentist since he was a child. He saved all his baby teeth because he valued them more than the money the tooth fairy could give him.

I think a cleaning is definitely over $100 at Rosenkranz but call and ask if you want to try him. Also, I had a root canal at his place but he had a guy who specializes in drilling teeth come do the actual procedure. It was nice b/c it was done where I usually go and they filed with my insurance there, so no extra paperwork for me. I had a lot of follow-up appointments for the crown (these didn't cost extra and were quick) but Rosenkranz handled those and I think handled it very well after hearing some horror stories.

For sure Dr. Sass (as his fans call him) does teeth cleaning at a price below $100.
He takes insurance if you have it. The office staff is competent and they will give you a price if it is to be out of pocket, if you call the office with intention of setting up and appointment or price shopping.
