Open Mic on Thursday nights

I am beginning to host an Open Mic for singer/songwriters, poets, comics (and others) on Thursday nights at UltraViolet on 3rd Ave & 7th street.

The first Open Mic will be this coming Thursday Dec. 9th and it starts at 9 pm.

If anyone knows musicians or performing artists who might be interested, please have them get in touch with me or just come down on Thursday. It will be posted on our website (http:www.ultravioletbrooklyn.com) but word of mouth is always the best.

Looking forward to kicking it off and hope to see people there!

    UltraViolet is such a horrid name for a venue (unless you're some techno dance club). Can't imagine ever going to an open mic at a venue named that.

    I kind of like it, even if it doesn't sound like a club I'd hang out at. Maybe with a space between "ultra" and "violet."

    I love the name. Sounds like something from A Clockwork Orange. "I'm going to Ultraviolet tonight to see The Heaven 17"

    Wasn't Ultra Violet the name of a comic book character or punk band member? Or am I thinking of Poly Styrene?
