Schumer - blowhard.
The guy is all about the soundbite. A lot of talk. No action. From Politico: "West Wing blames Hill Dems – A senior White House official, to Jake Tapper, for “Good Morning America”: “We wanted a fight, the House didn't throw a punch. … The House wouldn't vote before the Senate, and the Senate was afraid they'd lose a vote on it. … It was like the Jets versus Sharks except there weren't any Jets. … Senator Schumer says he wants a fight? He couldn't hold his caucus together.” "

I'm missing the point here. What are you upset about?

I assume Rosweed is referring to the White House caving to the Republicans on the issue of keeping or removing the Bush tax cuts for high earners.
I'm not pleased either. I was a rabid Obama supporter, until he routinely allowed the Republicans to gut his agenda. Call me one of the frustrated liberals.
Even if the lack of sufficient votes to invoke cloture gave Obama no choice but to bow to the unified Republicans, his failures to unite his own party, and to use his bully pulpit to address the nation repeatedly about Republican obstructionism, and about Republican legislators' consistent choice to do what was best for the future power of the Republican party rather than for the welfare of the American people, represents a serious failure even to try to force Republicans to back off from that choice.
Where is Lyndon Johnson in our hour of need?

Is there a congresscritter who isn't a blowhard?
-
The democrats have been divided and conquered.
They are well aware that government is not trusted to use the money well, and that people are looking for someone locally to blame.
---the average American's eyes glaze over when you try to explain to them their standard of living must fall as a result of America being now one of many powerful nations, as opposed to THE powerful nation---
While Americans wander around looking for ANYONE to blame, Obama and the republicans have reached an agreement: "don't blame us"

Mods, shouldn't this go in "Politics?"
