Does anyone else have service? I'm trying to call and their phone system keeps hanging up on me. I have a big web programming project due. They really couldn't have found a better way to screw me over if they tried.

  • I only have cable tv available. With lousy reception, at that. My phone & Internet, both Optimum, are out. I'm using my 3G Network now. Everytime I call Optimum I get a busy signal. I think I fucked up my settings by trying to recalibrate my settings before I realized what was going on.

  • same here. I have a couple projects due as well and now can't even access the server. Have to go out in this nastiness and get some wifi on.

  • Same thing here, both phone and Internet were out but they came back on around 10:00 am

  • A day after boasting to booklaw that my service never goes down... it went down. I'm on the 'Boost' servers, so it had to be pretty widespread.

  • same here --- My husband had to go to the coffee shop in this weather to get his work done this morning. I'm obviously back on now.

  • me too as well also. i called using the optimum number in westchester -- Brooklyn's was constantly busy -- and they said there's a problem in our "area" and also that there's some problem with user IDs? the recorded voice didn't say if the two things were related; didn't sound like it but who knows. Web is working now but seems a bit slower or intermittently slow.

  • i didn't notice an outage this morning, but i didn't get up until about 11...

  • There is still a problem with service. It goes out every 10 minutes or so. I've been on hold for 40 minutes. They need to find a way to notify customers when there is an outage.

  • Mine has been back on for a while, but I'm compulsively sending files to myself in case I need to head to Manhattan with the laptop later. I don't think the user ID thing was related, but I did see an Optimum Online van outside my back window a little while ago. Even in my bottomless disgust for OO, I can muster a little sympathy for anyone who's outdoors right now trying to fix it.

    You know, when I get an 8-second blurry period in Netflix streaming, they send me an email refunding me 5% for the month (or something like that). What are the chances we'll get even an acknowledgement of this outage from Cablevision?

  • Actually, I have been credited from Cablevision, but it was only after some serious, ongoing bitching.
