YES SEA SALE HAS LESS SODUM THEN TABLE SALT BUT YOU STILL NEED TO BE CAREFULL
DID YOU KNOW THAT 1 TEASPOON OF SALT = YOUR DAILY REQUERMENTS FOR THE DAY THAT 2300MG OF SALT
ME I AM ONLY ALLOWED 1000MG PER DAY YOUR BODY NEEDS SOME SALTBUT WHAT I NEED IS SOMETHING TO SEASON THE WATER FOR PASTA
I ALWAYS SALTED THE WATER WITH A HAND FULL OF SALT
THE OLD ITALIAN WAY THE WATER WAS TASTE LIKE THE SEA LOL -
1 1/2 TEASPOONS OF SEA SALT = 1 TEASPOON OF TABLE SALT
-
4 pounds of mussels
Doggone it! I miss eating seafood at Randazzo's or Joe's Clam Bar in Sheephead Bay or at Spumoni Gardens at 86th Street.
My buddies and I would have a great workout playing paddle ball or handball and we would venture to those places for some really good eats back in the late 70s to early 80s. It sure was some really good times back then.
A few years later I made the mistake of moving to Sleepy St Paul, MN where life is beautiful all the time as in Napoleon XIV's song. And I sure miss that great sea food. Folks here HATE sea food with a passion as they think it smells like a urinal. Honest now ~ that's how these loons think!
Enjoy that good food while you can - you never know if you will move somewhere else and won't have the opportunity to enjoy it again.

Hey Prodigalson welcome back home. It has been along time since u posted here.
Jerry when u come here to visit I want to be there with u and mu Uncle....Love hearing the old stories.
JEANETTE..so true..that little gift from Santa meant so much to us. We did not have much (material things) but we had Family and Friends and LOVE.....
Miss those easy days when I did not have a care in the world and had my entire family around the Christmas table and the sunday dinners every week. that was when family lived near each other and was always together. Now we are scattered all over and i is hard to get everyone together at the same time due to us all having our own kids and family scattered all over...
Thanks for the memories.....Hi Cuzzie miss ya!!!!
Off to nursery and book club in this freezing cold weather and I am still coughing my brains out.... -

Hey Guys!
I lived in Fort Greene for about 3 years, then we moved to East New York where I grew up. Moved to Borough Park & Windsor Terrace thereafer.
I love the Internet! Today we speak of East New York as the worst neighborhood in NYC and in the entire USA. But at one time it was the Mecca of American sports. Eastern Park was the Yankee Stadium, the Roman Coliseum, the Giants Stadium of America in the 1890s. Who knows this today?
Here's some history:
http://www.luckyshow.org/football/ep.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Park
Do a Google search for Brooklyn Eagle re the ENY cricket team that won the national championship in the 1890s. Believe it or not, at one time this neighborhood was the Capitol of USA cricket!
Must have been some wild times in the old city!

They have salt subsitute you can buy. One of my friends uses it in place of salt. I think the supermarket should carry it. If not let me know and I will ask him where he get his from. Hope this helps. It comes in packets like
sweet and low but its in place of salt. Good Luck....... -

Morning All -
Tis a bit chilly out there. No snow - not yet - it's to early. Today's a day for the heavy artillary - my down coat, UGG gloves (they are the absolute warmest) and my hat topped with the hood. It's cold waiting for the bus at 6:45am.
There's a wicked stomach flu going around - my entire family has it or had it - it's nasty - severe headache, neck ache along with the both ends going. Wash your hands A LOT - that'll help and don't rub your eyes or nose. I'm hoping it skips me.
Sorry for the graphics but everyone should be aware of whats going on.
Anthony - they sell a salt substitute - it's in the spice aisle. If you can't find check the internet I'm sure you'll be able to find it there.
Have a good day - stay warm.

Yikes & Holy Bannana Peels..... Predicted temp this AM was 29 degrees in Tampa & St Pete. I thought I left those temps in NY & NJ. High today 49 degrees. Water temp at Clearwater beach 49 degrees BRRRRRRRR! :lame:
Plain Christmas was the way it was. That little box of candy from Germain's, an Orange & an Apple from our Church-Neighborhood Christmas party along with a little toy. I wanted a bike for years. When I finally got one it was used. I LOVED IT! Getting that bike enabled me to learn how to ride a two-wheeler so when I was 14 I was able to get the job delivering meat on a bike at the Palace Meat Market accross from Germains. The fact that my brother had the job before me did not hurt either. somehow our parents always saw that we had a "good" and happy Christmas. I think we learned how to enjoy the simple things in life by what they could afford. As far as meals were concerned my Mother never knew how many to cook for on Sunday. We would always bring someone home from Church for dinner on Sunday and stray Uncles would show up because they new "Essie" would always have enough. Essie was my Mothers nickname. :santa:
