What LOCAL Merchants Do You Recommend for Holiday Shopping?

To Everyone,

During this holiday season and beyond, I would kindly ask that everyone please shop in our local stores. Please keep these small businesses, the heart and soul of Park Slope, alive during these hard times.

The merchants on 7th and 5th Avenues are struggling to stay alive.

please let's keep these stores open. No one wants vacant storefronts.

I am not shilling for any one business, but for the area.

Please let's keep them vibrant.

Thank you.

  • amen. we're out there every day doing our thing. it's one of the main reasons we're in this neighborhood.

  • One shopping day left til Christmas! Maybe everyone should list one local store that they recommend for holiday gift shopping.

And in the holiday spirit of giving ... Shilling for your own LOCAL business is totally allowed. Just indicate you're an owner, or friend/relative of the owner.

  • One of my favorite presents ( a bracelet) came from

I love this shop!! Support these sweet and friendly mom & pop shops!

  • Bierkraft. Seriously, someone please buy me beer! Plus, if going over to someone's apt. for Crimmus dinner, bringing over a mixed case or two of different beers would be nice.

    Their sammiches aren't bad, either.

  • If this was 2008, I would pick up some doggie candy canes at Housebroken, then head to Natural Heights for a tofu wreath. And then celebrate the end of Xmas shopping with a bottle of Cabernet at Tavern on Nostrand.

  • bought a pair of nice earrings yesterday at bijou jewelers on 7th ave near haagen daz - owner was nice and helpful. Also bought 2 pairs of boots/shoes recently at Good Footing further down 7th Avenue. Am trying to buy local as much as possible.

  • STERLING PLACE (7th Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets) is my absolute favorite. I can find a perfect gift for any recipient there, and I always end up wishing I could keep it for myself. Just lovely, clever, unusual items for every taste and every price range.
