You cant be for real. Please tell me you are not.

People actually died because the streets were not plowed and emergency vehicles could not get through, and you're complaining about bike lanes not being plowed? Really?
-
Mother Nature will desnow the bike lanes over the weekend.
-
I say it's a good place to dump all the snow so we can get our parking spaces back.
-
I think at least something plowed would be good for pedestrians, but on the bike lane note - cbs just aired a video of a bike lane being plowed accompanied by comments like those above - of the snide tone though -

Actually, I'm with this post's author- I think it's a shame that roads are plowed but not bike lanes. At least in NYC the sidewalk gets shoveled; in St. Louis (like many auto-centric cities) the roads were cleared for days before the sidewalk was walkable.
Glad to hear more of the side streets are getting cleared around the Slope, and hope EVERYONE is able to get around soon.

I'm not buying it either. Mainly because I considered putting up a very similar post two days ago - before any of the streets saw a plow.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

Appalling.

I understand that everyone has a right to a clean safe road, cars , people, bikes etc.......but are you actually concerned about the bike lanes? now?
When there are oil trucks, fire trucks, and city buses still stuck and unable to drive around freely?Self involved much?
-
Don't be a wuss - take the lane.
-
The 1% of NYC that uses the bike lanes should be outraged. How are the bicyclists going to bring up their January usage numbers?
-
(first reply was the winner)
-
Well now the roads have been plowed. Ya think they could clear the bike lane now?
-
Considerate bikers carry a blow torch and attach it to the front of the bike to melt the snow for the bikers following behind them. Environmentally, the melting snow waters nearby flora.
-
I hear the blow torch is powered by methane reclaimed from farts.
-
The one on PPW is plowed as far as 3rd Street. I don't know what the bicyclists do once they get there and can't go any further. But there it is.

i have taken to hovering once I reach 3rd street. because i am able to levitate with my bicycle, I don't actually need the prospect park west bike lane at all. however, i like to use it as much as possible in order to annoy those who think it shouldn't be there.

Pretend you're a teenager or a delivery guy and just ride on the sidewalk.
