What happened with Dog's Den? — Brooklynian

What happened with Dog's Den?

the dog daycare/boarding place on 5th Ave near 12 St. put up a hand written sign at the first of December saying something along the lines of "there was a kennel cough outbreak and we will be closed for a couple of weeks." Now I've heard from someone who used the place that it is closed for good but she didn't get any details other than she needed to make other arrangements for her dog.

Anyone know why it closed for good?

  • It was seized by the marshal for some reason, most likely because they've been sued. Judging by the comments below this article, the place was a total hellhole.

  • From what I saw one holiday season, this closing is a

God send. The animals are better off not having that

    as an option.

  • I am so glad that awful place has been closed. I stopped taking my dog there about a year ago after they lied to us about her being mistreated, but we caught them on the web cam. I've been following others complaints ever since. Reports of lost dogs, broken bones, bites, cuts, ASPCA citations. It was more doggy hell than doggy day care. What's really awful is that there is nothing to keep the owners from re-opening somewhere else under another name.
