The Q Train is the new G Train

That's right...Yesterday @ 7PM I waited 30 minutes for a Q train....What's up with this line?

Since 2010 it has gotten worst and worst....Sometimes it's faster to just jump on the Bergen 2/3. It can't be the weather, because I see N trains pulling into Canal all the time....

  • I totally agree with you. I'm not leaving Brooklyn tonight because the thought of an hour ride home from union square infuriates me.

  • Upgrade to the 2/3 if possible.

  • The Q used to be the best, but since the cuts in July, the service is terrible. Thursday night we pulled just out of the Canal street station and then stopped. It took 40 minutes from Canal to 7th avenue.

Now average time to catch a Q at Union Square is about 12 minutes during rush hour. Used to be 5 minutes max.

    And now another fare increase.

  • arggh yes i had an hour ride the other day, with 3 long unexplained tunnel stops. reminder of life in the 70's.

  • I agree. I've lived off the Q for 8 years now, and it went from being my favorite train to totally sucking. I opt for the 2/3 whenever possible now. I'm just glad I no longer live in Ditmas Park where the Q was the only game in town.

  • Q still has to be better than the N or R, right?

  • Wow, that's sad to hear. The Q used to be the best line and it was the main reason I was hesitant to move from north Slope to center/south Slope. I didn't want to go to the F. The 7th ave Q is three stops from Chinatown, four from Union Sq.

  • I've always thought the Q was bad. I try to avoid 7th Avenue on the weekends because without the B, you'll wait forever for a train.
