Prospect Park Animal Clinic Recommendations? — Brooklynian

Prospect Park Animal Clinic Recommendations?

I need to get my dog neutered. His normal vet is out in the country, but I think I'd rather do it at the PPAC, as it's so much closer if anything goes wrong, stitches get messed up, etc. I take my cat there and like them, but wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation as to which vet I should schedule the procedure with.

Thanks!

  • if you have time to waste you can go to CACC and have it neutered in their mobile vet hospital not in the shelter.. its cheaper and the same as spending hundreds with the local vet

  • tobyproject.org great people..super simple

  • My dog was neutered there and everything worked out fine. We are now on our second dog and have always had positive experiences.

  • As a general rule it is better to keep all your dog's medicals with the same vet. It is also better to have your vet near rather than far. But costs can trump most things. I would not worry about stitches unless your dog is very large, obese, or has unusual placement of the testes requiring special procedures.

  • PPAC accepts Muffins Certificates for low-cost neutering. I used one with my dog when we got him fixed a few years ago. It was a great experience, they are now my primary vet.
