Cheeburger Cheeburger? Seriously?

And 71 grams of fat! Come to think of it, I had it backwards. I think Five Guys is keeping the hospital in business.

I don't understand the love for Chik-Fil-A. Disgusting factory-farmed chicken plus anti-gay attitudes to boot!
If I'm going to support a wingnut Christian business, let In-n-Out open a place.

It is a shame that such a bland burger joint would go in that terrific space. Especially when there's an equally bland burger joint six blocks away on 9th. Cheeburger (such a stupid name, I feel bad about myself typing it) does have malts which are hard to find in PS.
I don't mind a Five Guys...their footprint is relatively small and innocuous. But Cheeburger is taking up a space that had so much potential.
Piano...If it was a bar opening up on each corner I would understand your Wisconsin comment. Otherwise, being a former Sconnie, I don't get it.

I worked for chickfila for 6 years in highschool and college. They gave me $4000 for college, paid me $14 an hour to manage shifts at the age of 16 and were closed sundays. We had at least 4 openly gay males on staff (that I remember. There may have been more.) The food is of grocery store quality (non-organic, but the chicken breasts used in the sandwiches were better than most of what I buy at C-town.)
There's reason for the love.

I live very close to this location and was hoping for something more. Personally, I kind of liked the old Mexican restaurant that was there. They had a good burger & beer special on Sunday nights. It had a nice ambiance, friendly enough staff. It wasn't a bad option.
Cheeseburger Cheeseburger, on the other hand, just makes me think "oh well". It's not for me. Fast food just seems unfortunate (not to mention the feeling of bleeding from the inside). I tried Five Guys once and was depressed by the whole experience. Standing in line, realizing that 2 out of every 3 people in the place were obese (you are what you eat), and then getting the food and finding it terribly bland isn't the best way to win ones affection.
Something different would have been nice, but such is life. Another reason to cook at home.

Would love the neighborhoods opinion ( before I spend my life savings). I have an opportunity to open a casual Greek restaurant ( take out, delivery, small sitdown space) on 7th Ave. The concept I have would be an elevated version of your typical " souvlaki" joint. I plan on using all natural meats, organic produce in a cool, comfortable space. Would love some feedback.

If you're talking about the place on 7th and 4th that used to be the Grecian Corner, please bring back the Grecian Corner. I miss you Grecian Corner.

Not the Grecian Corner, but close.

"grk" excellent idea, I see you did start a new thread on it. Just to avoid confusion, here is where the Greek restaurant talk should go:

I can't imagine being disappointed by the food at five guys. i would eat there for literally every meal if i could.
but yes, i am in good shape, so i avoid it. beware though, just because a place is a chain restaurant doesn't mean that it is more unhealthy that something original. i have eaten pretty deadly food at mom and pop places too. americans are fat because of all of our food choices, not just places like five guys.
2 out of 3 people around me at v spot the other day were fat too.

Well Josh didn't really have nice things to say about it.

cheeburger cheeburger sucks. they're food isn't that good, and their restaurants have the corny and fake 50's diner look. i'm pretty bummed that they're moving in...what a waste of an awesome corner location w/ a patio. 5 guys is but 3 blocks away!

i had a burger at cheeburger cheeburger in T5 at JFK about a week and a half ago. it was awful. the meat was hard, luke-warm and relatively tasteless, and the toppings were a mess and included a cold piece of cheese. i ate a few bites of the burger and then tossed it and got a slice of pizza. i know this was the airport version, but it was just strikingly bad.
