While you are waiting for them to get back to you I have a bridge to sell ya

Make sure you leave a note on the car that was hit. -
was there damage to the other vehicle?
-
I hate Access A Ride drivers with the passion of a thousand angry... car drivers.

If you complain to the MTA, absolutely nothing will happen. But you should seriously consider sending the story and photos to the NY Post and the NY Daily News. They love stuff like that and would most likely print it, especially since you have photos and details.

NY is a no fault state. The same thing would've happened had he been caught or simply left the scene. The City is self insured therefore no rate change. The victim's car's damage is paid by his carrier, even if the perp is caught, not the City.

there is a number on the back of the bus to report the unsafe driver... I had one of their kamakazie pilots cut me and a bunch of others off one night on atlantic avenue and i was able to follow him to his garage where i was so peeved that i spoke to the safety director who pulled the guy off the road

No fault for injury, but not car damage. The victim's property damage is paid by his carrier (minus a deductible) ONLY if he/she has optional collision coverage. If the vehicle that caused the damage is identified the victim's insurance company, if there was collision coverage, will collect from the owner's insurance and refund the deductible. If the victim didn't have collision coverage his/her only chance of being reimbursed is through the other party's insurance(or directly from the other party if,like the City, they're self-insured).

Surprise! The MTA emailed me with a number to call. I talked to a very pleasant woman who told me they would investigate and would talk to the driver.
-
Really? that's kind of cool that they actually responded and took action.

I would say depends on which company that access a ride belongs to and if it was unionized and which one and if they are good friends with the bosses
.last time my friend got in a fight with his supervisor (my friend started the fight lol) and he was friends with both union bosses and company bosses. he only had to apologize and he won't ever do it again. that was that end of the story. later on the supervisor got fried for unrelated reasons
.
