Nannies at the Food Coop
I'm surprised there hasn't been a post about this yet, but I guess there's a bit of a controversy brewing about Food Coop members sending their nannies to work their shifts. This sounds like a very 'Park Slope' controversy...
There was a debate on the ethics of this on the Brian Lehrer show earlier this week. Here's a link to the audio:

All this media about the newest fake controversy is based on an ALLEGED/RUMORED/heard-from-somebody post on a blog (F*cked in Park Slope).
There is no controversy. It's against Coop rules to pay anyone to work your shift. No doubt some people skirt the rules, generally, but if they're caught, the rules are enforced. Which then triggers the "Coop Nazis" meme, so you can't win.
Haters just gonna hate. But I'd also say, don't believe every rumor and complaint about the Coop, or Park Slope itself for that matter. I've found most to be unfounded/self-generated.

This is crazy. With all the stuff going on in the world from Libya, New Zealand and Wisconsin, who the hell obsesses about this nonsense?

This sounds entirely made up. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that there are some people in this area who are absolutely obsessed with the Coop. But why? And Fucked in Park Slope is such a crappy site. Why do people read it? It's so fucking dull.
