  • Mama, you do not need to move. This is nothing new.

    We moved to the Slope because my wife was pregnant with our first kid, in 1976! There were so many others like us that we were able to join a babysitting co-op, in which each couple was issued a certain number of tickets, each ticket good for a night of babysitting. The co-op lasted for years.

    The people now moving to the Slope may well include some of the kids whose then-impending births caused their parents to move here 30-odd years ago.

  • @booklaw we set up a babysitting co-op I'd guess at least 25 years after you. We tried to be smart and use the Internet and hourly point systems, but the 1 ticket = 1 night system sounds zen simple in comparison.
