What happened to Vespa Salon?

Does anyone know whats going on with Vespa Salon on 7th and 15th? I need to find Nancy. I will not let anyone put color in my hair but her. Saw paper up on the window on Monday. Are they gone or just renovating?

  • I heard from someone that works nearby that they're closed for good. Did you try calling? Sometimes salons will leave their stylists contact info on their voicemail...

  • I totally just saw a sign on a random 7th ave shop window about this. More than likely this sign was on 7th between 13th and 10th as that is my semi-regular dog walk route.

Anyway, it said they moved and everything was fine. I lost interest after that, but the news was positive.

If I see the sign today, as I walk the beasts, I'll certainly update this post.

Someone who owns a business on the block told me the same thing. They're lying. How rude. I got in touch with Nancy this morning after a quick check on their yelp. The stores main line is still working and they're currently renting space at La Belle Salon (between 13th and 14th I believe).

Just wonder why the other store owner would lie about it. Nancy sounded pretty shocked when I told her they said they had "no idea" where she or Sergio was.

  • I don't think it was malicious on the part of the person I spoke to- he sounded really upset about it actually, mentioning how long they've been in biz and how sad it was. I don't think its necessarily "lying"...they obv just don't have the whole story.

  • Saw a sign posted on a lamppost outside the italian bistro on 8th and 13th that said Vespa had relocated to a side street (forget which).

Have also a sign or two at salons saying something along the lines of "Now: Serge (previously of Vespa)".
