Moving on Monday- where to park? — Brooklynian

Moving on Monday- where to park?

anonymous
edited November -1 in Park Slope
I am moving to Park Slope on Monday. I'm going to have friends with a car staying with me for about three days. I'm moving into an apt on 5th Ave near St Marks-- and since it's ON 5th Ave I'm worried about where they are going to park. What's the parking sitch on this street? Will we have to be pumping quarters constantly for three days? Is there a parking garage or better alternative closeby?

All suggestions MUCH appreciated.

    Look on side streets.
Be especially aware of alternate side-of-the-street parking, as noted on street signs, which are well-posted.
If you park on the wrong side of the street at the wrong time, you'll get a ticket. Maybe a tow.
If you dare to park on 5th Avenue, parking is metered.
And, yes, there are times you cannot park in certain places due to street cleaning, rush hour, etc.
Don't park near a hydrant or in a garage apron.
    READ THE SIGNS.
FEED THE METER, if you're in a metered space.
    Good Luck!
  • ok, on this monday you want to park on either a monday street after the cleaning hours are over, or a tuesday (because i've heard alternate is suspended this tuesday) so that you can keep the car there all week while you're busy unpacking, etc.
  • Correct. No ASS Parking on Tuesday

  • A very approrpiate acronym.

Plus, I don't have an ass. Go look at the picture again (as if you haven't been already)
