Yesterday i try to plant some plants in the yard. anyway i found out the hard way. the yard is full of gravel mix in with the soil. took me hours to plant just a few. i was so tired i didnt realise i bury and step on a plant that planted few hours ago.

I killed 2 plants yesterday.

damn the gravel yard, i think the house back yard was used to store the stuff or someone just dump a few feet of that stuff into the yard.

maybe you could try planters. ...or it's probably expensive here in nyc but, you recreate the top layer by covering the yard (or a portion) with a single layer of cardboard & buying a foot tall soil in bulk for the desired area - i forget what this is called but i have seen it work really well. what kind of plants?

i'm going for cheap

. cant afford that stuff. i have tons of rose bushes. few phoney plants and bamboo(coming soon) alot of shrubs.

anyone k now where i can get some slate for cheap???

i spent all my budget on the house.
