Oh, and "France can't take care of their people during a heat wave". How well have we taken care of people after a hurricane ("Great job, Brownie!"?
And speaking of heat waves, according to our own Mayor, ConEd was doing a great job while 100,000 + were without power for over a week.
Your "arguments" make no sense, but they are opinions that you are entitled to have. Enjoy 'em and I'll enjoy mine -

Apparently neither can we....in the Chicago heat wave of 1995 over 700 people died--all elderly and poor. And lets not even get started on the disgrace of Katrina!eggcream wrote: Please elaborate on the various programs?

You mean like the patriot act--which is a significant threat to civil liberties, privacy and democratic traditions.? Do you mean like ignoring the Geneva convention in Guantanamo Bay and abu ghraib? Do you mean the invading Iraq under false pretenses and getting us into a war we can't get out of? Do you mean the cynical way he slipped in the tax cuts for the wealthy during a time when the country was in crisis and the democrats were behind him (and he scoundered our national surplus and put us back in debt?), Maybe you need to read another paper besides the Wall Street Journal if you are seriously asking me to elaborate on the programs that this dangerous president has enacted after 9/11 gave him a bump in the polls. But this seems to be off the topic of the original question and down a combative path. -

I'd name another one (me), but that would really fuck up egg cream's statement and I'm too nice for that  -
Uh, can I feel just a little embarrassed to be an American, now?
In evolution, Americans are big non-believersThe study, published in Friday's issue of the journal Science, found that in countries like Iceland, Sweden, Denmark and France, at least 80 per cent of adult believe that humans evolved from other species. In Japan, 78 per cent of adults believe in evolution.
But in the U.S. only 40 per cent of adults believe whole-heartedly in evolution, while 39 per cent called it “absolutely false†-
To understand that we came from monkeys, one only has to look at our President, no?

Thank god for the patriot act. The British have a similar law which I'm sure Britains are grateful for. Maybe now the Harry Reids of the world will shut up about the patriot act.
Terrorism is not in the Geneva Convention. But don't worry, recently the Supreme Court ruled in the lefts favor for war trials. Al-Quada bill of rights anyone?
Tax cuts for the rich blah blah. 80% of all federal income taxes are paid by the TOP 20% of earners. The BOTTOM 80% pay only 20% thus stimulating
the economy. So those that pay the most in taxes get the tax cuts. Those who make low salaries barely pay any taxes at all.
The only dangerous people are those on the left fighting against this administration, giving aid to the terrorists and giving out national secrets.kensingtonmom wrote: [quote=eggcream]France can't even take care of their elderly in a fucking heat wave.

HUH? You definitely sound like the Bush propaganda machine. but that is your choice--to accept the BS this administration feeds FOX news. Or maybe you are just lookign to pick a fight by making such ridiculous statements? Either way, I don't care. Not interested in engaging with such sophomoric viewpoints and getting totally off subject. One thing I have learned is you can't make a fanatic see both sides of an issue.
Howdy, Stranger!
