  • Good for you, man! Every summer scammers are ringing doorbells suckering people into giving ID's or switching "energy companies" so the bosses they work for can fill their pockets with your cash. They'll always claim that they work for Con Ed or whatever Keyspan is called now or days. As soon as any homeowner has the pleasure of meeting up with these folks, slam the fucking door in their faces and call the cops. And let your neighbors know as well.

  • Wow - what doesn't Obama get blamed for?

  • Yeah this is what I am going to be about exposing these frauds

Um, okay - best of luck to you, but you might gain a little more traction if you emphasize the "opportunists preying on the gullible angle," as opposed to the "Obama's super secret division of appliance spies" angle.

    Just my 2¢.

  • That's too bad Louiebee. You had a great thing going. Forget that this was happening way before Obama. Once you start heading down the road of tinfoil hats... Although I still say you've done a good thing exposing those assholes.

  • Dude So it doesn't matter that I got this from mainstream news admitting to that. I mean if they admit to it and I repeat what they again have admitted it is still tinfoil hat?

You lost me. They admitted Obama put them up to scamming? The Mainstream news found evidence that Barack gave the orders to steal SS#'s from gullible homeowners? Is Obama the Big Cheese of Brighton Beach now?

  • NO that is not what I meant. First of all it was a theory that these people were more than just scammers. Because of Rahm Emanuel's statement of funding a Obama's 'civilian national security force' http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=69601 which to me reminds me of the Nazi Green Police.

I admit upon further investigation into this company and also me calling the CEO I am suspecting that it was just these two who are just bad customer service. When I initially wrote that article my adrenalin was pumping I wanted him to try to fight me so I would have an excuse. However I refuse to hit a woman even in my own self defense.

  • id like to just say, ive worked for these companies, and i know who the people are in the videos. i used to work along side with them. i can assure you they are not stealing peoples information. its all about listening to what they say. the problem with these companies is that they will hire anyone with a pulse. they go through alot of employees very quickly becuase lets all face it. your walking around all day in sometimes dangerous neighborhoods up and down steps and dealing with people who hate you isnt what most people have in mind.

these people work mostly stricly off commision. so some of the schmuck joe blows they hire, DO steal information, and they do try and trick you into signing cause they just want the money. its very sad, and unfortunetly true. THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE THIS INDUSTRY SHIT. and yes they may hire alot of everyone becuase, once again, doing this sort of job isnt easy

BUT...yes there is a but, what these energy companies have to offer can and WILL help you save if you call con edison and national grid they will tell you about the ESCOs, they are even written on your bill (national grid is on the front bottom and con ed is on the back in the little square. they are Energy Supply Companies. they usually have an IMMEDIATE SAVINGS program. which means, for the first couple months YES! you will save money, but then, you must read the finer details on your contract to cancel. i can tell you, that those two in the video, the company they work for offers a discount off national grid and con edison with NO CANCELATION FEE. so when your discount ends, cancel your free subscription and sign up with another free esco and CONTINUE the cheaper rate. there are loop holes.

i never said every one that comes to your door is going to be truthful or with a plan that best suits you, and i am in no way saying that those who steal information are doing the right thing. also, it is the responsiblilty of the customer to do some research.

and as for the anger the woman displayed in the video, you have to realize, she comes from another country, she is a SWEET HEART with a loving husband and shes just trying to make a living, and she is treated like SHIT for noother reason then because of her nationality, myself and other workers are constantly harrassed by alot of people on a daily basis becuase of the bad taste, those smucks who steal peoples information put in peoples mouth.

please understand, when someone comes up to us hastly especially with a camera, we are automatically on guard. we work in alot of dangerous places, its just how you have to be sometimes. the man in the video isnt a bad guy, its just hard when you have people hating you for reasons other people caused. please understand.

going door to door in nyc is a tough job. id like to see more people attempt it.

im sorry for the people whos information was stolen and for anyone who has had a bad experience. but i hope that this clears things up a little bit.

  • and id also like to add, if someone comes to your door not dressed in a con edsion uniform or national grid uniform, you should never assume they are.

when they ring your bell, the truthful people just trying to work, say "gas and electric" not "conedision, or national grid" and we dont like saying who we are at first, cause it scares people away before we have a chance to talk. to sit down and SHOW YOU how everything will work. and how it CAN help you, the guys just rushing you dont care.

me personally, i enjoyed it im an outgoing person, but i never lied to a customer to get there signature on a contract they knew nothing about. i took time with my customers and i showed them how they can continue saving and show them what i do for my own utilities. people say, oh i got a second bill! no you didnt. before you register with an esco, your supply and delivery charges come from ONE PLACE. when you register with a different supplier, the charges are taken off your orginal bill and displayed on a separate peice of paper to show you the exact charges. its not two bills.

  • @mjones4206 your are a shill there is much information out there how these companies operate dont try to stand there and lie. It has now come to the point where if they come in my house we will chase them off the block like i did in the video. You people are criminals and We will not put up with it and defend our homes to the death from the likes of you. You should be ashamed of yourself and please consider committing suicide.

  • I had a job interview with Family Energy yesterday, and I'm not in on any scam, so I'm assuming those people in the video probably weren't, but the higher ups might be. Is there any evidence to suggest that they are scamming, or are you just assuming? Please let me know before I decide if I'm gonna take this shitty ass job or not.

  • Congrats on your new job.

If you find you are doing things that violate your conscience and/or are illegal, hunt for a new job while you work this one.

We all have to do something.

  • Looks like 'Family Energy' is at it again! Only this time, in Middletown, NY...about an hr and a half upstate from the city. These people who claim to work for this business rang our doorbell, and were asking of course, for our bill so they can see the ACCOUNT NUMBER! First of all, they screwed up because we do not have Con Edison, we have Orange & Rockland. They should really get their facts straight before venturing into 'unchartered territory'. most people who live around here have O&R....and if in fact they did happen to be a real company, they wouldn't have failed miserably at their attempt to 'help' us 'save money'. The girl who came to the door said 'we sent you a letter, but u haven't responded'...but then had no information of ours (such as our address) these people were just going door to door with their proposition. So I'd love to know how they would even know who 'got a letter' from them and 'didnt respond. They had no other information with them besides their phony pamphlets and handout papers about their so called business Family Energy. My husband didn't fall for it, and instead, followed them and started asking a bunch of questions, which could not be answered concisely....so we decided to take a picture of their license plate, got the name of the girl, called our actual energy company, and called the authorities. As soon as my husband told them he'd be making the necessary phone calls, ohhhhh how quickly they turned and walked away!

  • last week someone from some energy company insisted they were one of my energy companies and ask if i wanted to save money. I"m like not interested, he insisted he is there to help me save money and is from said company. I just close the doors on him lol. they come around each year when the weather warms.
