Good Sunday Morning all. Did not make Church today. Carol having a tough time with the digestive system. Guess I am going straight to hell when I croak.
Bobby, I sure wish I could help find your friends but I am sure I am MUCH older then you and I grew up on 12th Street, not the 20's area. I have been searching in vain for old friends from my block but this blog adopted me instead. I did not go to any of your schools either. I went to PS124, PS 40's and Manual. In Brooklyn there were so many schools (and kids to fill them) that every few blocks kids had a different school to attend. What we on this blog have found in common are Germains, 9th St YMCA, Prospect, Avon, Sanders, Globe & 16th st Movie theaters shopping on 5th Ave and of course the Churches in the area. Then there are Prospect Park, Evergreen Cemetary, Sunset Park & Pool, Red Hook Pool and for some of us older ones Ebbets Field and the BROOKLYN (not LA) Dodgers. If you find the same acceptance that i have, I think you will enjoy reading and contributing to this blog even if you do not find your old friends...Also Suzie will not start abusing you until she knows you a little better. When she starts giving you a hard time you will know that you are no longer a newbie.. Good luck. 8)

Hello-. Hey Bobby c, I think I have you beat by a few years. I was born in Park Slope in 1933 and lived on the same block until I married and moved to NJ in 1960. (My job moved to NJ while I was in the Army 1957-1959) The other folks on this blog will have to help you with all those names from your area and I am sure they will.
Suzie & Terry. I will have you know that my cooking, while plain, aint too bad!!! Also Carol & I attended the Reformed Church on 12th Street (Now Baptist I think). In fact Carol's Mother's Memorial service will be held in the Church on 12th St. Emma Zimjewski, along with the rest of the Brown family attended the 12th Street Reformed Church as well the same time as we did. When it disbanded in the 60's or 70's several ex-members went to the Lutheran Church you mentioned. I believe Emma's husband went there for many years. Yes the good old Palace Meat Market. It was a great part time job while attending H.S.. I delivered orders all over the neighborhood with their very heavy bycicle. I also did a lot of clean up work in the store. Pay was good and working conditions not bad. Tips from delivery were pretty good as well. :bounce:

GOOD MORNING ALL

Terry, I did not mean to confuse the issue. It's just that Suzie had us (Carol & I) going to the wrong Church so I gave her the info on our Church. I mentioned Emma because Suzie had said she saw someone that might be a Zimjewski. That of course is not a very common name so I thought there would be a connection there. As I mentioned earlier, when the 12th St Reformed Church discontinued operation in the 60's or 70's some people from the Church went to the Lutheran Church Suzie mentioned.I beleive that is when Emma went there. By the way, you might mention to Bunny that with the death of my Brother Dave recently, I am the only one in my family still alive. I am the last of the Mohigans! #-o

Hey everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend, 83 here today and very severe storms tomorrow; it seems we're all taking turns getting these storms.
Welcome Bobby, I'm sure you have some connections on this blog, most seem to have lived up by 19th st. I lived on Prospect Ave. and went to Holy Family.
Thanks for the b'day wishes for my hubby!!!
Patsy, I haven't checked the TV Guide yet but I was hoping Mobbed was on this week.
Suzie, Now Anthony is calling you a little monkey!!! LOL
Jeanette, At least some prayers were said for you, that's nice!!!...and you're honest too.
Leaving early today for a dentist app....just a cleaning, hope they don't find anything, I always hate that!!
