We're looking for a good home for our two kitties. Unfortunately, my husband's asthma has returned from a 10 year hiatus with a vengeance and we are forced to find a new home. The flyer below has the deets. If you have any questions or are interested, please PM me.

I have asthma, I just take Advair and viola no problems. Also if you want someone to adopt them they need to be up to date on their vaccines.

At even the best rescues it can take a year to get shy adult cats adopted and they would be put to sleep at the AC&C. As it is kitten season now it is even harder to find adults homes so please try to work it out with an allergist.

If you cannot then make sure you charge a small donation fee to any adopters to weed out bunchers, collectors and dog baiters - they will appear legit but a small donation of $25-$50 will keep them away as they only want free pets.

Thanks for the info... I hadn't thought about people who would adopt for nefarious reasons.

My husband has been taking an inhaled steroid as well as albuterol and his symptoms just aren't improving enough. FWIW, his entire family has severe cat allergies. We thought we had dodged the bullet since he's been relatively symptom-free for so long, but he's been coughing and wheezy pretty much nonstop for the past 5 months.

We're primarily relying upon our social network and members of a UU church in western Massachusetts where my in-laws live, but I thought I'd put it out here as well and see if anyone bites.

As for the fee, I agree a small on is a good idea. If you wanted, you could let people make a donation to shelter (like Sean Casey) as the fee. Not sure of the logistics of that (maybe paypal) or just meet there for the swap, but could attract good folks (both willing to pay the fee and like the idea of it going to a shelter.)

I would try contacting local rescue groups to see if they can help show the cats at their events. It is likely they would expect you to have them up to date on shots although they may be able to help with that, as well as expect you to volunteer to talk to interested people about your cats and help out.

It can be a long process to get them adopted to safe forever homes but it is worth the time knowing they will be cared for but trustworthy people.
