  • From Yelp.com

    Jessica P.

5/15/2011 OK so the review before me is from a solid 5 months ago- maybe they've undergone tons of changes since then but this gym is GREAT!

The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, the gym is always clean, and the trainers really know what they're doing. They just had a member appreciation night down at Union Hall totally free of charge to their clients- what could be better?

Zumba is definitely the most popular class- Daisy works you hard but its just so fun!

There is free childcare, a spa upstairs with pilates reformers and massage, and there is a whole area dedicated to stretching.

    Definitely would recommend it!

  • Hello all,

I would like to inform everyone of another wonderful thing we are doing at the club.

We have a membership referral program.

For every member who brings a friend to the club.

If their friend joins our community, the member is awarded one week free membership.

One further way we are enhancing your experience at S Clubs.

  • Should this thread be locked? It's starting to become a running ad for this place.

...but perhaps not the most effective one.

  • Sweet Tea-

    Shhhhh.

The owner thinks of himself as a marketing genius.

And who here doesn't love watching a slow motion train wreck?

  • Did you just re-post a review from Yelp?

This is the most desperate cry for business I've seen in quite some time.

  • I did not just re-post the review from yelp.

  • Yeah Boygabriel, it was copied and pasted, not re-posted, obviously.

  • Please everybody, just follow the new rule set down by WhyNot. S Club = Fight Club (and we all know the first rule).

  • Hello all,

I would like to thank all of the members and nonmembers who attended our Saturday brunch in the Spa.

Everyone had a great time, and we all enjoyed getting to know each other.

I would like to recommend a great play, that my wife and I saw this past weekend.

It's called the Rap Guide to Evolution, and is currently playing at the Soho playhouse on Vandam st between Varick & 6th Avenue. It really knocks the hell out of creationism, and, in my mind, destroys any silly notions of racism that people could possibly have.

I would also like to recommend 2 films.

The first, The Trip with Rob Brydon & Steve Coogan.

The second is Fire In Babylon. This film documents how the West Indies achieved a sense of national pride through the game of cricket.

  • Sorry, but you have convinced me to never join S clubs...this has been a very strange thread - and I don't patronize businesses that think the way to make them look good is to bad mouth their competitors. And quite frankly - I'm not interested in your recommendations you may have for plays for music

  • I know I'm a little late in the game, but...Desperate much, Mr. Kotsonis? It's pathetic how you cry for forgivness now, when you've screwed over your members royally in the past. Shame on you! Do not trust this man. I am a former member of this gym, whose also had major billing issues and trouble with the GM. I would'nt recommend this gym to my worst enemy. I never wish bad karma on anyone, but you Kotsonis - I hope the gym falls flat on its face. You deserve to go out of business.

  • And really, don't recommend plays you've seen. No one here cares. Stop trying to be relevant!
