  • Boringggggg

  • Melt's burger and fries are on the list of the best in PS... just saying. Though their brunch gets a little too pricey for me.

  • Wow, in reviewing mp's posts I see that every single one of them is an ad for Melt. Why is this tolerated?

  • Because mp is Melt. He or she doesn't pretend otherwise, and is providing information that may be useful to its fans. No harm, no foul.

  • ^ I would like to respectfully point out that snarkslope's point is really pretty valid. the quote below is copied and pasted from the rules section:

"* Talking about your own business because it's relevant to the conversation: Sometimes OK, if you are truly contributing to the discussion, and your post is really relevant to the thread. People come here to talk about the neighborhood and they don't want to wade through promotional posts. It should be OK if you start out by saying "By way of full disclosure, I own this bar, but since you guys are talking about doing X-Y-Z you should know that we have had an X-Y-Z night for a few months now..." something like that. Just be cool."

It seems to me that even if posts like mp's don't actually violate the letter of the rules, they do violate the spirit of the rules - I'm not a lawyer though :) Additionally, Memorial day brunch is over, therefore the post is no longer relevant.

If I were you, I'd make them buy an ad.

  • Look at Listings some time... there are many, many unpaid promotions for neighborhood events, stores, apartments, etc. If it seems likely to be useful to folks in the nabe, and if it occurs once a week or less, we allow it.

That, of course, is only for posts where the interest of the poster is disclosed. If the poster is an undisclosed shill, we remove the post as soon as we determine shillitude.
