Vandalism (More Pics)

Me and my fiancee came home last night to see what appears to have been an explosion that lead to a melted garbage can and a destroyed bumper on some dude's Jag. This just isn't cool. I'm willing to bet it was some "prank" by some kids who clearly need some guidance. Normally it wouldn't be so bad but as you can see in the photo, dude's bumper is completely melted inches away from the gas tank. Who knows who could have been hurt had things burned just seconds longer. Someone must be held accountable

  • One of the shittiest parts (besides the car damage) is that some poor fk is going to have to clean up that mess and it won't be the city or fire department, just a good tenant, neighbor or owner of the building it's in front of. Great way to start your weekend.

  • I had to clean up that shit.

  • D'OH! ](*,)

Sorry man, hope your day gets better.

  • or just some smoker who was kicked out of the park.

  • I wonder if it is related to this threadorthis thread. I seem to recall this was a happening on both sides of Flatbush last summer.

  • saw a similarly melted garbage can on sterling east of Washington a few weeks back.

  • metal/covered cans should always be used. Butts should be crushed and completely rubbed down to the filter before they are ever thrown in a trash can. Rags w household cleaners can ignite hours and days after they are thrown away. The can could have been set ablaze by a smoker that tossed his cigarette in the can hours earlier.

  • Sure, maybe a pair of discarded reading glasses focused the Sun's rays onto a greasy fish and chips wrapper containing a balled up napkin saturated with anti-bacterial hand soap, igniting a conflagration.

    Happens every day.

Ocams's Razor suggests a slightly more Beavis and Butthead style scenario.

  • I'd guess that the Jag's electrical system had a short that subsequently ignited the can and its contents ablaze.

  • Definitely not a cigarette or electrical spark. Look at the way the trash was thrown out! It looks like a small pipe bomb was thrown in the trash can. Did you find any pieces of piping or any type of wiring in the trash? Kids always make these with just a few simple items lying around the house so I wouldn't doubt it if it was just some prank.
