  • Drunk cycling will get you eventually :)

hope you find your bike, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  • actually i was commuting from work - thanks for your astute assumption sir ... ANY way: am hoping the man who tried to help me may have taken it

  • I just pounded the shit out of some girl on a custom bike riding on Franklin. Also I jumped a guy on Vanderbilt and gave him an ass whooping' he was also riding a custom bike. I hope I got the right people. Using your description I will be really tired of beating people who may haven stolen your trusted steed. What is the brand genius. You have to at least put a size, color and brand if there is any hope of getting it back. Get checked for a head injury

  • Thanks as*hole you sound like a real GEM - just got back from LUTHERAN where I had a cat scan - "what is the brand genius" hmmm have you ever had a head injury? Kind of makes you a bit wonky - Listen I'm a forty year old born/bred Brooklyn woman, I have been cycling for over 25 years (raced for ten) - things happen - I was posting to see if anyone had seen anything. I know my bike is gone - I was just attempting to find out if anyone had heard/seen anything - "sorry" if my verbiage was not in tact. Not really - people like you are a cancer on society. Take care.

  • Folks... Be cool!

  • Wow...

So, I've been on this board under a few names, been banned a few times, made some friends, made some enemies.

My style has always been irreverent, if not offensive. Frankly, I'm saddened to see that this board has degenerated into such a hateful place.

At this point - there is no way I can muster enough negative energy to ironically combat the aggression and hate that I find here today.

  • Exactly - I've been reading the boards for several years now ... felt like Gothamist w/my post - pure ignorance and hateful remarks - needless to say i have wonderful friends who have rallied around me for a speedy recovery ... it's all about the energy and intent behind your words

  • Well, Nuyorican- this is the first I'm reading of what happened to you and I'm really sorry that you had to experience the NY version of a good samaritan (from what it sounds like, anyway). I hope you get the info you're looking for, wish you a speedy recovery and a happy hunt for a new bike, if that's what it comes down to.

And never take the guys on here too seriously- I think they all drink and post. Catwalker definitely must.

Oh, and Dance Rehearsal= Drunk Revival?

  • Nuyorican- I have no news of your bike, but I hope you mend well and don't mind the nasties. I am sorry about what happened to you.

  • That must have been some pothole you went into. Hope you were wearing a helmet. Good luck retrieving your bike but I doubt it's going to happen. If they guy who tried to "help" you took the bike and wants to return it odds are he has no way to find you. Be thankful he didn't take your wallet as well.

  • How about putting flyers up at the scene?

Assuming he wants to return your bike, I'd imagine that would be a good way to let him know where you are.

Posting on a bulletin board such as this one is good, but the time honored flyer on telephone pole technique remains valid as well.

    get better.

    injuries and hospital visits suck.

  • thanks all - filed police report - real brooklyn people have each others backs which is why i didn't take these guys/gals too seriously ... am making a speedy recovery - find me one person who was unconscious for 8 hours and survived sans brain injury or death ... am BLESSED

  • No hate here, just presumptuousness -- I've drunk cycled myself a few times with pitiable results.

Can't imagine a wipe out that knocks me out without alcohol involved. Maybe just take some bicycling lessons? :)

  • uhm no, eastbloc (can't believe i'm even responding) i was coming from work - i usually ride with cleats but was late and left w/regular sneaks on hence my loss of control - i swerved to avoid a car (think it was a liv cab) that blew the light @ 3rd - "bicycling lessons" ? yeah, that's a really great idea, thanks!
