Crazy campaign worker?
I just had the oddest experience with someone who claimed to be a campaign worker.
She rang our buzzer and when I picked up, asked for someone I've never heard of. I said there was no one here by that name, so she asked if this was apartment XYZ (i.e. not ours). I politely informed her it wasn't and hung up. She then proceeded to ring the buzzer intermittently for 3-5 more minutes, which I ignored because our buzzer is first on our building's list, and I'm used to crazy people who want me to buzz them in for no reason. Finally I got sick of the infernal buzzing and picked up again in extreme exasperation. She then asked for my husband (by name). I asked who she was. She said she was from the Jeffrey/Geoffrey Mhrmmmhrrmrmm campaign. I said we weren't available.
WTF? I can't figure out offhand who she was talking about, but I'd dearly like to let them know what I think of their campaign volunteers. I've actually done a fair amount of that kind of work myself, and I'd like to think that I at least manage to come off as sane. Usually when someone doesn't let you in, it's because they don't want to talk to you, yes?
Of course, she could have just been trying to gain access to the building to steal our fire extinguishers and doormats--it's happened before.

Just ran into a neighbor who also ran into the person. He says she asked him his name and where he lived, then said she worked for Hakeem Jeffries. He's got a pretty slick website. Should probably screen campaign workers a little better.

that worker on that link sure has tack lol. -
I'm a partisan for Bill Batson, so I find this whole thread incredibly entertaining. The so-called political insiders have been very impressed with how Hakeem Jeffries can raise money, and it's good to know how he's utilizing his financial contributions.
For some comparison, here's Bill Batson's website: http://www.BatsonForBrooklyn.com
There's also a new voter guide blog- I'm not sure who's behind it, but check out http://atlanticyardsvote.blogspot.com/ which has an opinionated analysis of how the candidates stand on the Atlantic Yards proposal.
Finally, if you want the Batson campaign to avoid your home, or if you would like us to make our case in person, please shoot me an email at [email protected].
